My DS lite had a spastic session awhile back, wouldn't go to sleep when I closed it. Had to turn it completely off, since then no problems with it going to sleep, BUT, now both screens are slowly getting darker and darker.
Wow you have a serious problem. Your LCD screen is losing power probably from a leak or bad wires or connections. If you stil have your warrenty, I would try to take it back.
