Try heating up touchpad with blowdryer , if that doesnt work replace touchpad.... On the smh9207st remove plastic cover from the back of the door . Remove 4 screws and 1 screw at the top of the door . Unplug two connectors Gently. ... Peel off front touchpad . Install is reverse of removal . Be safe .....part was $45 @ repairclinic.com
The instructions for disassembling the door are overly simplistic. The number of screws is correct, but taking the door apart was difficult as there is no obvious way to do it. Once disassembled, there was no way to get at the touchpad without removing the chrome facia on the front which seemed to be glued on, and prying would certainly destroy it. You cannot..."Peel off front touchpad..." UNLESS, these instructions refer to another micro, or there is a way to do it but William did not mention it.
correct, just a control board , pop off the inside trim on the door ,then unscrew 4 screws then pry out the inside door, the outer glass will come apart then you'll see the board
