EVERY TIME I TRY TO SCAN TO PC IT TELLS ME THERE IS AN ERROR AND TO REINSTALL HP PHOTO SMART C4400 I HAVE AND IT KEEPS TELLING ME THE SAME THING CAN YOU PLEASE HELP

The way it works for me (different HP all-in-ones, earlier photo smart) is I start Photo Smart, then (once it's loaded), I press the Scan button, and it scans (or brings up a scan menu on the little LCD on the scanner where I tell it to scan).

If this is what you're trying and it doesn't work, you might not have installed the software correctly. The scanner drivers are very picky about when you plug in the scanner to the computer during installation -- if you plug it in before the install program says to do it, the scanner won't work (though the printer will).

The thing to do in this case is (1) unplug the USB cable from the back of the computer, (2) go to control panel->add/remove programs, and remove the scanner drivers, (3) shut down and restart the computer (very important), and (4) put the HP CD into the computer and reinstall the scanner, only connecting the cable to the computer when the program tells you to do it.

Try to reinstall the printer driver. If its still in error, check your OS if it is compatible with your printer driver.

so sorry to tell you but seems that your hard drive is bad now and you may need to replace it however you can try reinstalling the operating system with the help of a disk.

kindly uninstall the printer driver and software restart the system and don’t connect the usb cable 1st install the driver cd and when it prompt you for connect the usb cable then connect it and follow the instruction. It will resolve your problem.also change the usb cable and the usb port.

You have to fully uninstall the installed drivers for your printer.

First pull out the USB Printer Cable from the computer. Then uninstall the software / driver.

After fully uninstalling try reinstall the HP software with USB cable still not plugged in. Plug the USB cable only when you are asked to do so while installing the software.

After the successful installation your problem will be solved.

hey i also had this type of problem. but i solved it and hope it will solve yours too.
first of all uninstall all ur hp drivers and softwares related to the hp printer. then restart your pc. now disconnect ur printer with ur computer and turn it off and again on after 15 secs.
now insert the cd which i have got with the hp printer in the cd-driver of ur pc and install the driver.
after the installation is complete, connect ur printer, but do not remove ur cd.
then start scanning, and if it will again ask for installing driver, u dont have to worry it will install it from the cd.
this would surely help u, if problem persists, please tell me.

Are you by any chance trying to install the HP unit on a computer running Windows 10 ... tee he he?

Download the latest drivers, download the patch, install them both, that should fix your problem

look dor the hp imaging solution on the bottom of your computer screen. Click on it and when the screen come up clip on the button that is closest to what you are trying to do.

Try reinstalling the printer software by downloading the latest version from support.dell.com.Also try using the printer with a different system if avialable.
