The DVD/CD drive won't open. It's hid behind a face plate and when I push the tab, it clicks but won't open. On one forum site someone said that the computer thought it was reading a disk and I should unclick autoplay. I did this but it still doesn't open.

You need to go to Device manager, remove ALL USB devices the whole thing.. remove and uninstall driver. then, reboot. Now at next desktop, try using the USB stick then, this often "Fixes" any problems. (Windows will auto-install the entire USB layer all again at boot up)

Here is a site that has a good manual for installing the Dvd Burner. It is very stright forward once you open up the case. Just make sure that you unplug the computers power cable, open up the case. Notice how the cables in the back of the cd rom are connected. Take the CD rom out and slide the new one in. The site listed below also has pictures to help you out.
