i have a whirlpool that go threw a wash cycle, but will not shin out the water
SOURCE: Washer won't agitate
I saw this happen once and you know what it was? A loose connection!. I pushed in the timer's molex block and it worked! It musta vibrated out the socket somehow. You must flip up the console to access the controls.

I have a Whirlpool Utlimate Care II LSQ8520JQ0. For those having a problem separating the upper and lower agitator halves, here's how I solved it after about 2 hrs of aggravation.
Called Sears and Whirlpool with no help (didn't have tech manual...go figure).
I saw the same post with the problem with melted hooks (I called them tabs) ontop of the dog housing being melted. You can differentiate the melted tabs from the dog housing as the dog housing is usually clear plastic (after wiping all the crud off) and the tabs are white as they are part of the agitator. There will be four white tabs on top of the dog housing. They look both smashed and melted. I took a flat head screw driver and and hammer and chipped off the white melted tabs visible on top. I inevitably also chipped some of the dog housing but only marginally. Once chipped off you'll see the tabs are actually rectangular in shape. At this point I EASILY pulled the top and lower halves apart. Those retangular tabs are the molded part of the agitator housing extending down past the dog housing. You're home free at this point.
It's the melted tabs on top of the dog housing that keeps you from separating the halves. What a pain but finally figured it out.
