Well, I will take a shot at this one. Look around the back of the Register case for a reset opening. It may be a small hole in the plastic case that looks like a paper clip would fit in it. These Electronics usually have a Bootup button somewhere in the chassis. Then stick a pin or toothpick into this fixture to reset it.

If no luck, go to your Browser and enter the Make and Model of your unit. You may be able to find a Manual.

SOURCE: how to fix

hi JPOWER,

my problem in finding a solution to this problem is the fact that Casio doesn't allow anyone who isn't a Casio supplier to download the manual for the CE 3700.
I would firstly suggest that you cycle the power on the machine if you've not tried that already. To do this you need to power down the machine and physically remove it from its power source. Keep it powered down like this for 30s to 1min to allow the machine's memory to clear. Power it back up and try logging in now.

If this doesn't work and you still have the manual for the CE 3700, try looking up some section in it relating to the procedure to restore the machine to its factory settings. With the machine restored to its factory settings you'll be able to log into the machine as if you just bought it, with the down side of losing all the data acquired by the machine before the restore to factory settings was performed.

If this doesn't work either the possibility of physical damage to a electrical component of the register should be considered and could be verified by a electrical technician.

Hope you find this information helpful in solving the problem with your cash register and thanks for using the FixYa service
Kind regards

Hi. You have set the register to program mode. Turn the key back to Z/PGM, then press SUBTOTAL (you might have to press it twice).
It may print a list. This is normal. Then turn back to reg mode, and you should be back in business.

I cant turn off my cash regeister?

No brand and model? Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:

Check the power source: Ensure that the cash register is plugged into a working electrical outlet.
Check the control switch: Verify that the control switch is in the correct position.
Clear procedure: If the above steps do not work, you may need to use the "Full System Clear Procedure." Before you take this step, be aware of the fact that this will erase all programming and transaction data from the machine's memory. To complete this task, turn the control switch to off, remove the memory backup batteries that are in the printer compartment, and unplug the register. After 30 minutes, plug the register back in and replace the batteries, turn it on and reprogram 1.
If none of these steps work, I suggest you contact your cash register's manufacturer's customer support team

How do I fix a Warning Power Fail on my Sam4 ER-390M cash register?

If your Sam4 ER-390M cash register is displaying a "Warning Power Fail" message, it means that the register has detected a power outage or an interruption in the power supply. Here are some steps you can take to fix this issue:
  1. Check the power supply: Ensure that the cash register is properly plugged into a working power outlet. If the power supply is shared with other devices, make sure that they are not causing any power surges or fluctuations.
  2. Check the battery backup: The Sam4 ER-390M cash register comes with a built-in battery backup that can keep the machine running in case of a power outage. Check the battery backup to see if it is functioning correctly. If the battery backup is not working, it may need to be replaced.
  3. Reset the cash register: Turn off the cash register, unplug it from the power source, and wait for a few minutes. Then, plug it back in and turn it on. This will reset the cash register and may resolve the issue.
  4. Contact customer support: If none of the above steps work, you should contact Sam4 customer support for assistance. They can provide further guidance on how to resolve the issue.
It's worth noting that if you experience frequent power outages or power supply fluctuations, it can cause problems with the cash register's electronic components. In such cases, you may need to consider using a voltage stabilizer or a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) to protect your cash register and other electronic equipment.

OLIVETTI ECR 400.EV NOT RESPONDING

If your Olivetti ECR 400.EV is frozen and not responding, you can try the following troubleshooting steps:
  1. Reset the cash register: Turn off the power switch located at the back of the cash register, unplug it from the power outlet, and wait for 10-15 seconds. Then, plug it back in and turn on the power switch.
  2. Check the connection: Ensure that the power cable is securely connected to the power outlet and the cash register. If the connection is loose, it can cause the cash register to freeze.
  3. Clear any paper jams: A paper jam can also cause the cash register to freeze. Check if there is any paper stuck in the printer or any other part of the machine.
  4. Contact Olivetti support: If the above steps do not work, it's best to contact Olivetti customer support for further assistance. You can find their contact details on their website or in the user manual that came with the cash register.
Note: Before attempting any of the above steps, make sure to backup any important data in the cash register.

Till roll print says power fail. cannot open the cash draw.

The power has been turned of before the sale was finished. Make sure it has a new roll of paper in the printer, then turn key to PGM and switch the power off. Hold down the SUBT key while you turn on the power - display will say INITIAL or something similar. Turn key back to R and see if it works.

VCR will not show picture or menu on TV after power outage.

Hate to say this, but when power outages occur, things like vcr's are the first thing to fry. But if you feel that the vcr is fine as far as powering up, then unplug it from the wall socket for 30 minutes or so, plug back in and see results.
