Remove grill. pan will not come out ( leave it in place ) took an empty liquid dish detergent botlle of bleach and water squirt into pan let it sit - scape if needed . then take a wet/dry vac - repeat)

There is nothing in the pan - it's completely dry. This is not the problem.
I have the same problem. It only smells when the fan is on. The fridge is only a year old.
I have a new Kenmore with no drian pan; there is a syrupy sweet smell when the fan comes on..Ive cleaned underneath ..but still have the smell.

Same thing....Mine smells all the time now. At first it was just when the fan kicked on, but now the odor fills my kitchen. It smells like rat urine or old musty socks. Haven't been able to figure out exactly what it is. Kenmore side-by-side, 1 yr. old.
