I ordered this Soncm SM-750MV headset, it did not come with a manual, and I am trying to set up the microphone to go on my laptop but it doesn't work. My microphone is not muted or anything like that but one says "currently unavaliable". I want to be able to video chat with my best friend but I can't get the mic set up.
This headset is pure bad. I have three and none of them worked. The manufacturer has no quality control or post production inspection. To fix the mic problem, open the earphone to which the mic is attached. You\'re likely to find that the mic wires are SHORTED together in a single piece of paper tape. Remove the tape, separate the wires and retape, assuming the tiny thin wires don\'t break in whic case you need to resolder the joins. Had the manufacturer any kind of QC, the faults would have been immediately obvious.

Make sure you select the wireless when you do the setup.
Also send this to your family
and friends so they have their computer setup properly.
Web Camera’s have to be
setup on the program they are to be used with.
Just installing the camera on your computer does not set it up to
broadcast on messengers or Skype.
Each program has Options that have to be setup in order for
the Audio and Video to function properly.
Skype Setup:
After downloading and installing Skype (http://www.skype.com/intl/en-gb/download/skype/windows/beta/downloading/)
set it up as follows:
The camera and audio should function properly. Your friends and Family will now be able to
see and her to you.
Hope this helps.

Have you tried changing the Audio Device that windows is using?
Under the Sound and Audio Devices in the ontrol Panel. Under the Audio tab, try the Default Device under Sound playback. Change this to the headphones.
SOURCE: microphone fuzz
Try turning the microphone volume down in your sound settings - fuzziness is usually caused by trying to amplify the signal to a higher level than it can carry.
For your own piece of mind, you might also want to check your headset on someone else's machine - that will pretty quickly distinguish between a headset and a computer problem.
