Hi Bob, you've going to need to get the back off and get some voltage readings, start with the power supply, go by the legend on the board, let me know what you find, and I'll give you some advice on what to test next
Have you checked the owner's manual? It will normally have a chart to isolate and troubleshoot problems.
If that does not help contact Vizio tech support if you are still under warranty.
As a last resort someone may have the answer for you.
Unfortunately. the HDMI port on the M190VA does not interpret the signal from a computer. The HDMI signal from a set-top box is different than that of a computer. You need to use the VGA port and the PC audio in on the TV; if your computer doesn't have a VGA port, use a DVI to VGA adapter or other appropriate adapter. You will need a 3.5 mm audio patch cable to use the TV's speakers. See page 25 of the M190VA manual here: http://store.vizio.com/documents/downloads/hdtv/M190VA/364User%20Manual.pdf .
If its a brand new unit then its possible the remotes codes may be too old. ask cox to try a new remote or have them research the problem. after all you are a paying customer.
