Security Alarm not working on VW Bora 2001

To bypass the factory security would be difficult or car thieves would have a field day!

your best bet would be to get a replacement alarm key fob and disarm the vehicle that way!

Answer If it is a factory (OEM)security system. Go to passenger door and

• lock/unlock 2 times to clear/reset fact security system. If your battery is weak , you need to fix batttery or problem will continue .

only for true factory alarms.

CAR ALARM ISSUES

It can be any of the car doors not got properly locked or the door is locked but the switch is not sensing the door locked. Open and close each door again properly.

Or else its problem with any of switch wiring getting in contact with alarm wiring causing it to happen.

And last thing alarm connections need to be inspected. It's getting short somewhere in between.

The security system does not disable the starter, it only disables fuel to the engine. In the fuse block under the hood, locate the STARTER relay. Place your hand on this relay and see if it clicks while someone else turns the key to start...if the relay is ok then the starter itself is faulty. Good luck, i hope this helps.

You factory security alarm needs to be reset.

Insert the key in the drivers door, turn left, then right to disarm and reset it.

Once this is done, charge the battery.

If this does not work, do the reset again, then disconnect the battery and charge it out of the vehicle. Once it is charged reconnect it. You may need to perform the key reset again afterwards.

If this does not work then the system has malfunctioned and either I can explain how to bypass it if you have some level of electric ability or you will have to bring it to a dealer.

You need to hook the alarm back up and do a reset on the car.

Here is how you do it.

1) Turn factory original key to "ON" position for 5 seconds
2) Turn key to "OFF" position.
3) Repeat 1 and 2 again. Do it twice.
4) This should reset the computer to the chip inside the key.

If that didn't work,You will need to have the codes downloaded at the dealer.

Make sure your car battery is 100%. (Battery test.) Batteries only last 3-5 years.
If battery power drops down, alarm designed to come on.
Other possibility, if someone in neighborhood nearby (within 500 yards) has a cb radio or ham radio or a service truck with a radio in it, that could set off the alarm intermittently due to same radio frequency.

If this is a factory alarm try using the the key in the door lock and turning the door lock manually. I have seen this issue in chrysler models as well. If this does not work try replacing the batteries in the key fob as this will cause falfunctions as well.

My EPC light magically appeared at 20K miles and the car squeaks like mad whenever it's moving. I don't notice any performance loss (engine-wise) in the car when the EPC light comes on but it won't let me switch gears from Park to R or D. I have an appointment next Friday to have it looked at. It's an automatic 2002 New BORA with JUST over 20K miles.
