I have a finepix f402 and when i switch it on to camera or video nothing happens if i switch it on to review it is ok . the flash does not work either .when i go to the set up the auto on and auto off do no apper in the window

I think there is a problem with the connection to memory device in the camera as you can review but not record anything.
Possible cause could be that the connection to certain features has been affected.
If you can use certain features it means there is not a major fault but a minor one.
I advice you to take the camera to a nearby repair shop to get it checked.

Inside the door hinge area is a small switch that normally would turn off the viewfinder and turn on the LCD panel. THat switch could be defective or mechanically not being switched. WIthout opening up the unit, I can not tell specifically. This shouldbe a simple repair for any shop that repairs cameras.
