Cant get mute off eircom 7000 handset

Plug in a simple wired phone to the main incoming socket. That is normally the closest on to the front door. The most likely reason is no service.

My Sagem Eircom 7000 handset is not charging properly when put back on the base. It usually gives a little bleep when you do this but does not at the moment. It charges for a short while but then it bleeps slowly and cut out when in conversation. Can you tell me you to FixYa!

Firstly... avoid showing your SSID (eircom-123456789) here, as the WEP key can be reverse engineered from the SSID.

To change your SSID, connect your router to your PC with an ethernet cable, go to your web browser (Intenet Explorer, Forefox, etc) and type 192.168.1.254, and press return.

This will open the control panel for the router.
Select 'EXPERT MODE' from the menu on the right, and accept the warning prompt. Then click on 'CONNECTION' and the 'WIRELESS' on the menu on the right.

In the main window you can then change the SSID for your network.

You can also change some of the other options in this window such as enabling closed mode, change security protocol, password, etc.
