SOURCE: Acer aspire one not booting
your laptop has been turned off without shutting down. all your laptops registries are probably messed up. the easiest way to do is to reformat your computer or restore it to factory settings. unless you have some important files that you cant afford to lose.
SOURCE: acer aspire one is not starting up. It goes back to OS start up
there are two possibilities i can think of, one, a virus, two, a bad driver file. what you can do, is run it in safe mode, if it goes to the log in screen, you could log in, and when a dialogue box appears to run in safe mode, click yes. then, go to the start menu, then locate my computer, right click on my computer, and click on manage. A window will pop up that says computer management on the top. In the middle, click on system tools, then device manager, and it will show a list of all of the devices that are installed. Lots of times, your display driver is updated and causes your computer to be unstable, there fore, giving you the bluescreen error, which causes your computer to constantly restart. (make sure all recently installed devices are unplugged before doing this. new devices may also cause this error). look for any devices with an exclamation point, right click, and uninstall them, then restart the computer to see if it solves your problem. if not, then it might be a virus that activates with internet acces, if so, run your computer in safe mode, and run a virus scan and hope that it finds the virus. If that doesn't work, then what i recommend is try to back up your work in a flash drive or disk and running the backup disc that comes with your computer. to run that, sometimes your computer comes with a disc, run that disc and follow the instructions. if not, then sometimes it comes preinstalled, and have to press f10 on the first boot screen. if none of those options are available, then call the manufacturer and ask for the restore disc for your computer model. Good luck
SOURCE: boot problem with acer travelmate 290
if a computer boot up only until the windows xp screen not on windows environment...usually it is because of corrupted system...
your pc will never boot until the logo if there is a problem in your video card, sound card, memory or power supply...
so i suspected that there is a problem in your operating sysyem..try to run system restore if you have...
if not you need to format your operating system so that you can use your laptop again...
note: i have also experienced a problem with boot until the windows logo, but i found out that the problem is not the operating sytem...i found out that my client's capacitors in his motherboard are damaged...maybe due to over use or improper cooling system...if you can check it that's much better so that you can prevent waste of money...
SOURCE: I have an Acer Aspire
Frequently ACER ASPIRE ONE A110 and A150 hang and give a black screen of death. Most probably this is due to the BIOS problems and if you want to boot them again, a BIOS updating is required.
First, download the required BIOS from the Acer site:http://gd.panam.acer.com/home/ and unzip it by another computer. (Your netbook is already dead!)
Among the extracted files and folders, there is a folder namely Dos_Flash. Open it and there are four file items there like "3310, 3310.fd, FLASHIT, and readme.
Now rename 3310.fd as ZG5IA32.fd and FLASHIT as FLASHIT.EXE and keep the rest as they are.
Copy all these four files to a fully formated and blank USB stick. In this USB stick there should be no other files or folders than what you copied now ( 3310, ZG5IA32.fd, FLASHIT.EXE, readme )
Keeping this USB stick in hand go to the dead netbook. Switch off the device if it is already on. Insert the USB stick. Having the AC power and the battery connected to the device press and hold FN+Esc and simulatneously press the power button to turn on the netbook.
Release the FN and Esc buttons after a few seconds and now the power button will be blinking. In this stage press once the power button alone.
Now the device will start updating the BIOS, we can see the process as the LED of the USB stick flashes. In a few minutes-say less than 10 minutes-the system will restart and come to life again.
Don't disturb it during this process and wait until it comes to full level of operational condition to remove the USB stick.
Best of luck,
