The tv is a model# WS48311 serial# 106199. The prob is the set turns on (green light) after 1-2 seconds it shuts off It is a Mitsubishi

hello i've just checked the manual for here is some information

None TV is powered off. Normal operation.

Green TV is powered on. Normal operation.

Green 1. TV just plugged into AC outlet.

Wait until blinking stops before turning on (approximately 1

minute). Normal operation.

2. AC just restored after power failure.

3. TV Rebooting after System Reset was

used.

The TV is going into a "protect mode", the micro-processor has sensed a circuitry problem and has shut the set down so that no furhter damage can happen, you will need to have the TV serviced by a Mitsubishi tech. Good luck !

set has a self diagnostic---after set does shut down press and hold MENU AND DEVICE(INPUT) buttons on front of set for 5 seconds----if 2 blinks, a pause and 2 more blinks: this is short protection error code---The set does use 2 Stk394-250 and each is protected by a pico fuse in the power supply---if either fuse is blown the set will shut down(it detects no voltage or missing voltage;) It is not uncommon for a shorted IC to cause this problem; if you locate the STK's look carefully at the resistors around them---if any are discolored or burnt---you have found your problem.

the lamp is simple; yet you can run into problems with this tv. be very careful replacing lamp. the plug in the tv can be damaged. (due to the design)

I have the same problem with my mistubishi projection tv model ws48311 I believe the problem I had before and it was a couple of transistors and a high voltage power supply that fixed it. I believe the problem was caused by faulty power from a power strip or outlet not making a good connection and sparking. I had Overland Tv in OP Ks look at the Television, but heard bad reviews from a coworker and now do not trust them [email protected]

Have you tried holding the input and menu buttons on the set both in together for 8 seconds to see if it will blink a 2 digit error code? Try that and let me know what code if any flashes from the Led.
