I had the same problem with my HP when l put vista on it and overcame that problem with using my XP driver. It worked for me no harm in trying your XP driver.
Is this an HP printer? If so check the startup tab in msconfig and uncheck the HP webprinting or print to web (something like that). You can also uninstall the printer and reinstall it to see if that fixes it.
there might be a problem with the Linksys router, the Westell 6100 should be 1st set to bridge mode in order for your router to be connected to it. or there could also be a proble on the Verizon server.
How long have you had your router and how well is it maintained and well vented? Even the most expensive routers need these two things consistently. Failure in doing this may result in a shorter life span than normal. My guess without actually being there is that it's time to try a new one. If you get the same problem with the new router, take it back immediately and call your ISP for service. It could be possible that there is some phone work being done in the area, and you just happen to be a victim!
Have you installed any software firewalls lately, I know Norton has a habit of randomly blocking the internet.
Try disabling any firewall you may have and try again, if the internet surfing problem persists, try plugging in a wired connection and seeing if you can surf from there.
Initially, it has to be confirmed that your laptop is virus free before all others could be addressed. Failing to do so would make all subsequent actions suspect. Pls try to:
uninstall Norton Antivirus;
download, install, run and update Ad-Aware. Please do it twice, immediately after install when normal mode is running, reboot and run again in Safe Mode. Safe Mode is accomplished by pressing F8 before Windows boot. In both instances, quarantine/delete any and all scanned findings;

upon reboot, press Ctrl-Alt-Del, press on Performance tab and determine how much is the CPU usage;
pls postback here the results.
Just a start, do postback how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.
That sounds like your Wifi/Bluetooth Ariel loop.
Some laptops have the ariel installed but no WiFi/Bluetooth module,
This is so you can add it later if you want it
