Good instructions from SteveSays. Used his instructions and service diagrams from:

Once disassembled, I found main problem was shaft on spider assembly had corroded and was now rotating freely. So I ordered spidershaft assembly. While I had machine apart, I also ordered and replaced both rear bearings and seal. Parts can be ordered from:
LG Service Website for LG Parts Distributors

I ordered all parts from Andrews Electronics due to parts being in stock there. Good service and quick delivery.
Rear bearings can be pushed out using hammer and long punch. You must be careful not to damage bearing insert that bearings fit into. New bearings were driven back in using large socket to only push on outer race of new bearings. Care must be given not to damage. Best practice is to put new bearings in freezer for an hour or so prior to installation.

I would suggest unplugging for 12 hours. If you plug it back in and it works again then order a new main control module. If it still doesn't work after unplugging for 12 hours then you probably will need a new hall effect sensor. check out pa rtstore . com for parts. Good luck!

SOURCE: How to replace door gasket on LG WM0642HW Washer?
I also had a door gasket tear that caused water to spit out all over the floor so I had to replace it. It's a fairly simple job in theory, you can even find LG repair manuals online. The front panel comes off easy and removing the spring and wire clamps from the gasket is fairly simple. Getting the gasket back on is a different story. Seating the gasket is a bit tricky but I found that some lubrication helped greatly. Don't use oil based lube though because it could soften the gasket. I opted for a water based lube in the form of KY jelly (***insert crude joke here***) The drum side wire clamp was a bit of a challenge. My model had a hook on one end of the wire so that it came apart when removed. I think this made it much easier. Some models don't have the hook so you would need a tool that could stretch the spring. Something like a reverse pliers. Even with the hook, it was tricky. I found that jamming something around the gasket to hold the wire in place was helpful. I ended up using some vice-grips and needle nose pliers and all the strength I had to get it hooked. In fact, to sum up, the secret is to get enough force to stretch the spring. Once you figure out how to do that it's easy.
