When taking a picture, all I get is a pink blurry shot with gray lines running through the shot, but the LCD screen shows a good image when not shooting a photo. Canon rep (1-800-828-4040) was very helpful, call them and explain that you have a problem with the CCD image sensor, and that you believe that it's covered under the service notice and should be repaired for free.

I have the same problem. Since yesterday I have started seeing pinkish image on the LCD of my canon A95 which I bought about 4 years ago. When I click on the photo it comes pink and blur. I have found that sometimes the image is not even visible.
The problem is that I am in India. Can somebody tell me if this can be repaired here.
Any help would be highly appreciated.

    Thanks a lot
    Maneesh

I called them today. They were great on the phone. They emailed me a UPS shipping label and told me that there will be about a ten-day turn around to fix it and send it back.

Unable to take pics. Old pics available, but can't get new ones. Unintelligible blurs on screen. Going through resetting default procedure leads to "Busy".

It seems Canon A95 camera got ccd imager chip problem that is why you do not get live view in camera mode to take fresh pictures but camera shows old pictures in playback mode.
Let me know if this diagnosis is correct to proceed further.

Hi Sunil. The problem with your Canon A95 is quite common on cameras of 4 or 5 years ago. The repair is quite expensive, as the main imaging chip (CCD) has absorbed some moisture over time. There is more in-depth information here: http://www.imaging-resource.com/badccds.html

CANON POWERSHOT A95

Obviously it's a mass Canon A95 issue, it's the same as "pink blur LCD" question which has around 10 people with the same problem, and there's also "purple LCD line" question which refers to the same. Just this website has around 20 of us who posted in August. Unfortunately not a single reply.
