For so many years it worked fine, but today when i turned on my desktop, it wont boot. it will show black and blue vertical lines and then blue screen with long error message something like page_fault_in_nonpaged area. I cant even boot the system in safemode F8 doesnt do anything. Any idea what could have happened and how do i boot the system?
Take out the bad shorted main battery yet? be 1st first... for sure.
this PC needs repair, do that ask how to fix PC's in text box?
clean it ever, get all that dust out of PC,
blocked vents, and blocked FAN or blocked heatpipe RADiator is all bad deal.
so it can run cool and not overheat?
or has bad RAM. (remove them all try 1 by 1)into bank 0
no photos shown but that is BSOD error.
I bet.
It can be other things, ILL not do a list.
lots. (even weak power pack or shorted main battery)
why not get it fixed in shop?
Memory problem. A page fault occurs when you don't have enough memory so it writes a page fault to disk. It could be bad RAM or driver could need an update.
SOURCE: my hp wont boot up keep getting blue screen error
Good chances are, you have a bad memory stick. If you have 2 memory sticks installed, take one out. If it still does it, put that memory stick back in and pull out the other one. If you're still having problems, you might have to reinstall windows.

Furthermore, I use Vista 32bit. I also tried reinstalling the entire system(which it did), but still it is not booting. I mean it starts with verticle blue lines and then shows the blue screen with long message which includes above. I cant by pass the startup phase so I dont know if it is really VGA card. Although, the recovery manager wizard or prompts etc have the full proper colour and graphics, but it is just the background (like wall paper) that has become blue verticle stripes.
