Please use dvd map to recover software on my gps mio c230

Holding down the hard reset button will reset the units. If, somehow, you have deleted the maps off the SD card you will need to contact mio about getting a replacement. place the memory card into a memory card reader and see what files are present in the /miomaps/maps folder.

Do a hard reset, by flipping the power switch on the bottom. Leave it off for a minimum of 30 seconds. then turn it back onn, the firmware bac-up will be restored at that time.

Turn the device off( from the back button) press volume up and the flag button( third from the right) in the same time and power on the device. Keep pressed the two buttons untill a screen shows . Press ok and then another ok. Then restart the device. This will do it

How to unlock my mio m300
If it's locked on the main screen and won't load, follow the below process.
If you want to unlock maps, you need to buy a key or update here:

Just moved to Switzerland and I'm looking to use my mio c230 here. Is this possible?
You will need to download the proper maps and then you should be golden. You will need to buy them and then replace the maps or add them if you have enough space.

My GPS is missing most maps & I cannot seem to transfer from cd
the maps are on the 1gb sd card in the side of your c220 unit.
If it's missing, get a 1gb sd card and find a computer that will accept sd cards and your cd that came with your gps, then download the maps from the cd to the sd card.
Your c220 only has 4 states on the unit itself.

The c230 has all the maps on the unit but only 1 million POIs versus 3 1/2 million on the c220

C220 mio map upgrade victoria/australia. can you help
the c230 has the maps imbedded in the gps. Your CD that came with it has maps to dowmload to your gps through a USB cable. It does not have other countires.

Recover
I have a CD that came with my GPS and I dwonloaded the maps to a 1GB SD card usinf a slot on my computer, Then I put it in my GPS and rebooted it by holding down the on/off switch to power down. Then repeat to reboot.
