Battery won't stay charged

If the laptop battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles and will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% and gradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR The battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the battery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced. Rechargeable batteries will fail if stored in a discharged state for long periods.

The first thing to do is have the battery tested, just because you charged it doesn't mean it will stay charged if the cells are sulfated up or shorted.

Bring the power cord/charger to a pc shop and have them test it. It might need to be replaced. Otherwise you need to replace the battery.

check charging system like altenator or make sure battery cables are clean and tight. go to advance or autozone they will check it for free.

Sounds like battery not holding charge. Or a light staying on, boot or glovebox? Most likely battery tho.

you need to contact the people you bought it from & tell them what it's doing & see if it's still under their's warranty?

the battery wont stay charged? if youre putting in a fully charged battery and your car runs, but then the battery slowly dies, the problem will be your alternator. the alternator is what maintains a car batteries charge. try replacing the alternator. hope this helps.
