Plug it in, open "My Computer" right click your device and click "Format" a window will pop up with the settings on how you want to format it, make sure it's set to FAT, then click "Format."
Hope this helps!

I have the sansa e250 mp3 player,and i want to format it,how can i do that?

Hi!

Please follow this:
  • Disconnect the device from your computer and turn it on
  • Go to Settings > USB Mode > MSC
  • Connect the device again
  • On My Computer, look for Sansa E250 (Removable Drive)...
  • Right-click on the E250 and choose Format
  • Click "Start" and agree to start the formatting process
  • Done!
If you are satisfied, rate my solution with 4 "thumbs" or (even better) add a testimonial.

Good luck and Best regards,
Pelu.

Hi, I unplugged my sansa by accident while it was formatting. Now it says there is no free space left in it but .. it has nothing on it at the same time. and it doesn't show up in my computer as a sansa...

try formatting the h drive and see if it works... if that doesnt work, download sansa updater from here http://mp3support.sandisk.com/sansa/Installer/1083/SansaUpdaterInstall.exe run the updater while your player is connected to pc and it should download the appropriate firmware

Delete songs from my sansa e250

You can only delete songs from this player when it's connected to a computer. There are two modes of adding songs to this player. You need to remove the songs with the same method you added them. Alternatively format the whole player - but make sure you do it the way Sansa recommends, not by formatting in windows.

My sansa e250

If you want to delete EVERY track off the player, then reformat the player in Windows Media Player - it's a shortcut - see my "tips and tricks" on formatting mp3 players

If there are artist, album traces, then you need to click on every subfolder under your device in Windows Media Player and delete every trace that way - tedious, but effective

-Tha Mp3 Doctor
There are 2 ways to format an mp3 player - if you were formatting the mp3 player from "My Computer," then try reformatting from Windows Media Player instead - I have a "tips and tricks" entry on How to Format an Mp3 Player for details

If that doesn't work, then double-click on My Computer, double-click on the Sansa player, and go to the various folders that it lists - music, voice, etc. Delete the songs ONLY - do not delete the dat, bat, ini, inf, or other system files

Formatting the sansa e250

Yes, formatting will retain the interface and everything else necessary to run the device. It only removes what you have put on the unit. Also, format anytime you begin to have strange problems with the device that can't be explained...like songs that don't appear after you've transferred them.
