SOURCE: Photoshop's Primary Scratch & Windows primary paging file on the same volume

this is not a hardware error actually photoshop writes temporary files, for which it uses hard drive, its alway a better to have scratch disk other then the drive where its installed, you can change this, by going to edit, preferences, then check plug ins-scratch disk, check your first scratch disk other than c, say the drive which has the maximum space, then select any drive
how do you like the solution please rate it i will appreciate your comments

SOURCE: Adobe Photoshop Cs3 Serial Number

As adobe released photoshop CS4, CS3 version is currently not available. But you can buy it from resselers like Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Adobe-Photoshop-CS3-OLD-VERSION/dp/B000NDIBYG)Since it is a paid software, you have to pay for it to get theauthorized code. As CS4, the latest version of Photoshop is there, think before buying the old version.

I hope this will solve your issue.

Good Luck.

If my solution proves useful please accept it.

SOURCE: cannot install photoshop elements 6 in vista home edition

There is a problem with the auto-extractor.

Manually extract the files from the downloaded file using Winzip and extract to a new folder. Then run Setup.exe from that folder.

Also, make sure that your Temp folders have been cleared out.

The latest version of WinZip may be downloaded from http://www.winzip.com

I installed photoshop 7.0 on my pc.when i tried to start it the error comes "could complete your request because of missing or invalid personalisation"

Errors such as this could happen when an older version or BETA (testing) version of Photoshop CS has already been installed on the computer, or when your registration information file does not get written properly or is corrupted. When there exists multiple copies of Photoshop in the Applications folder, your system and Photoshop may get confused and encounter conflict with which files it should use to verify personalization. The same case could happen if there is a BETA version of Photoshop currently or previously installed on your computer. This conflict can lead to personalization errors when launching the application.
The Photoshop CS installer personalizes the Photoshop CS application within the Applications folder alphabetically. If multiple instances of the Photoshop CS folder are present, only the first one alphabetically will be personalized. New installations of Photoshop CS (which folder falls alphabetically after the first installation) will not be personalized.
A damaged or incorrectly written personalization file (userreg or ps.sif) can also cause Photoshop to return a personalization error when you start it. Some troubleshooting steps which I recommend are as follows:
Solution 1: Uninstall and then re-install most recent version of Photoshop.
If Photoshop's serial number is not displayed on the bottom of Photoshop CS's sg Photoshop, you may have another version of Photoshop CS on the computer. Uninstall the copy of Photoshop and reinstall it. It is especially important to remove any beta copies of Photoshop you may have.
How to remove and uninstall Photoshop: 1. Move any personal files from the Adobe Photoshop CS folder(s) on the hard disk to another location. 2. Uninstall Photoshop from the control panel 2. Delete all Adobe Photoshop CS folder(s) in the Applications folder if there are any. 3. Drag the Users/[user name]/Library/Preferences/Adobe Photoshop CS Settings folder to the Trash. 4. Insert the Photoshop CD-ROM, double-click the installer file in the Photoshop folder on the CD-ROM, and then follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

Solution 2: If the reinstallation did not work, download the Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool at http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html
Just follow the instructions on the same page mentioned. This will help you clean out all the files of Photoshop that was installed to your system, as well as the registries that may also cause conflicts.
Solution 3: Use the ImageReady personalization file.
If Photoshop's serial number is displayed on the splash screen, or you performed the solutions referred to above, the cause of the errors is a personalization file that is not written correctly or is damaged. If you can successfully open ImageReady, you can use ImageReady's personalization file for Photoshop.
To Use the ImageReady personalization file: 1. Ctrl+click the Adobe Photoshop CS application file in Applications/Adobe Photoshop CS and choose Show Package Contents. 2. Open the Contents folder, and then open the Resources folder. 3. Locate the USERREG file in the Resources folder, and drag it to the desktop. Keep the Resources folder open. 4. Ctrl+click the Adobe ImageReady CS application file in Applications/Adobe Photoshop CS and choose Show Package Contents. 5. Open the Contents folder, and then open the Resources folder. 6. Locate the USERREG file in the ImageReady Resources folder, and copy it to the Photoshop Package's Contents/Resource folder. 7. Close all open folders, and restart Photoshop. Restart ImageReady to make sure that the USERREG file was copied, not moved, to the Photoshop Package's Contents/Resource folder.
Solution 4: Replace the Photoshop .sif file.
If Photoshop does not open without error, also replace the .sif file: 1. Ctrl+click the Adobe Photoshop CS application file in Applications/Adobe Photoshop CS and choose Show Package Contents. 2. Open the Contents folder, and then open the Resources folder and the ASN folder in the Resources folder. 3. Locate the PS.SIF file in the ASN folder, and drag it to the desktop. Keep the ASN folder open. 4. Ctrl+click the Adobe ImageReady CS application file in Applications/Adobe Photoshop CS and choose Show Package Contents. 5. Open the Contents folder, and then open the Resources folder and the ASN folder in the Resources folder. 6. Locate the PS.SIF file in the ASN folder, and copy it to the Photoshop Package's Contents/Resource folder. 7. Close all open folders, and restart Photoshop. Also restart ImageReady to make sure the PS.SIF file was copied, not moved to the Photoshop Package's Contents/Resource folder. 8. In setup editor, under components, expand the Typelibrary.tlb component. Expand advertising and remove all entries under it. (should be only one.) Compile and install.

I have adobe photoshop 5...used it for years with windows 98...now have windows 7 and i cannot get it to work...i need the program,,,i want the program and found it to be exactly what i needed....why...

Photoshop 5 LE appears to be discontinued. Adobe puts up a page redirecting the user to a newer Adobe product called "Adobe Photoshop Elements 9" which is available as a free limited time trial or direct purchase instantly or after the trial expires for as little $79 (regular price is $99).

I found a listing on Amazon for "used" versions - I checked it to see if there was any info I could use to help you. The listing says it requires Windows 95 or Mac OS9 or below. This is part of the problem you're having I believe. You may have some luck running the program in one of the Windows "Compatibility" modes.

My PC here runs WinXP - but at home I have Win7 - and if I recall correctly - you can right click on the program and check properties or options and find a box for Compatibility - then select a version of Windows you want to run the program in. Click OK and tthe next time you try to run the program, Windows will make the program think it is running in the Windows version you selected. If that doesn't work - you're probably going to have to consider buying the newer product from Adobe. You could contact Adobe customer support to see if there is some sort of reduced cost upgrade path you can use as a previous licensee of the older product.

I hope this was helpful & good luck! Please rate my reply - thank you!

When attempting to start Adobe Photoshop Elements 2, I get this message " Could not complete your request because of missing or invalid personalization information." Using a PC running XP home service pack...

OK, loads of different fixes for this, have fun.

These errors are caused when a version of Photoshop CS is already on the computer, such as a beta copy, or if your registration information file does not get written properly or is damaged. If multiple copies of Photoshop are in the Applications folder, or if a beta or tryout version is installed in addition to the regular version, the system and Photoshop may confuse which files to use to verify personalization. This confusion can lead to personalization errors when launching the application.

The Photoshop CS installer personalizes the Photoshop CS application within the Applications folder in alphabetical order.

Do one or more of the following solutions:

Solution 1: Remove and then reinstall Photoshop.

If Photoshop's serial number is not displayed on the bottom of Photoshop CS's splash screen upon opening Photoshop, you may have another version of Photoshop CS on the computer. Empty the trash, remove the copy of Photoshop and reinstall it. It is especially important to remove any beta copies of Photoshop you may have.

To remove and then reinstall Photoshop:

1. Move any personal files from the Adobe Photoshop CS folder(s) on the hard disk to another location.

2. Delete all Adobe Photoshop CS folder(s) in the Applications folder.

Solution 2: Remove and then reinstall Photoshop in another location.

If you uninstall and reinstall and still get personalization errors, or if you cannot locate an installed copy, uninstall any copies you find, empty the trash, and then remove Photoshop, and then reinstall Photoshop in another location that is alphabetically in front of any other installation.

To remove Photoshop and install it in a new location:

1. Move any personal files from the Adobe Photoshop CS folders on the hard disk to another location.

2. Delete all Adobe Photoshop CS folders in the Applications folder.

3. Drag the Users/[user name]/Library/Preferences/Adobe Photoshop CS Settings folder to the Trash.

4. Create a subfolder in the Applications folder, that is named differently from the default Photoshop install folder (Adobe Photoshop CS), and is is alphabetically in front of the other version of Photoshop, such as \Applications\aaaa\Adobe Photoshop CS.

5. Reinstall Photoshop CS and select the new subfolder (created in Step 4) as the install folder when prompted for the installation location.

To Use the ImageReady personalization file:

If Photoshop does not open without error, also replace the .sif file:

(should be only one.)
Compile and install.

I know its a lot, but Adobe is a complicated program:) Source(s): http://kb.adobe.com

Adobe photoshop CS 3 upgrade version

The point of an upgrade edition of a piece of software is so that you can upgrade your existing software. You need Photoshop 7 or higher to use the upgrade. If you don't have it, you will need to return/refund your purchase of the cs3 upgrade, and get the full version of the software instead.

Your other option is to purchase an earlier version of adobe photoshop, in order to install it so that you can upgrade it. Seems very round-about but I suppose it would work, and I'll bet if you find adobe photoshop 7 somewhere, it'll be awfully cheap ;)
