For me the solution was in the temperature sensor. The Locked light kept flashing and the door locking mechanism kept cycling when the door was shut or if I just held the oven light switch in the closed door position. After replacing the control panel I still had the same problem. Next I turned off the breaker and then took off the wire covers on the back of the oven and disconnected the temperature sensor. I then checked the continuity of the sensor which was fine. With the sensor still unplugged, I turned the breaker back on and the panel said locked but the locking mechanism was not cycling. With power still on to the oven I connected the temperature sensor. It worked. All I had to do was press the clear button on the touch panel and everything was fine. I turned the breaker back off and reassembled the oven. Hope this helps.

Bought a used GE jtp15 wall oven, wired it 220 red/white/black. It turned on, locked door flashing, 4:00 flashing, then shut off and will not turn back on.

Strange it won't turn back on. Did you see it working when you purchased it secondhand?

It appears you just need to reset. Turn off at the breaker for 2 minutes, then back on and try this.

Ge profile oven is in lock mode not able to turn it on , it says HOLD UNLOCK BUTTON FOR THREE SECONDS BUT THERE IS NO SUCH BUTTON, WHAT BUTTON SHOULD I HOLD DOWn?

Hold the "lock" button for three seconds.
This is the way mine works, yours is probably the same way.
Holding the "lock" button for three seconds changes it from locked to unlocked and ALSO from locked to unlocked.

GE: E Profile Single Electric Oven Model: JSP40W0WJWW

First press and hold the cancel/off button for 10 seconds.
If that does not work you have a bad thermal switch due to excessive heat buildup. Possibly a bad fan motor.
The 2 thermal switches are located on top of the oven behind the control panel.

GE Profile convection with light bulb burning out

Multiple possibilities.
  • Being used as a night lite. (continuous use)
  • Not using a light bulb designed for use in a oven.
  • Inexpensive bulb. (very low lamp hour rating).
  • Oven door slamming.
  • Over voltage condition.
  • (My favorite) Light bulb swapping Gnomes.
Please take the time to give this solution a fix ya rating.

"Door Locked" flashing on GE Oven JTP15 - can't unlock

The problem may very well be in one of the micro switches on the self cleaning motor bracket. These switches control the electrical flow to the heating elements. In the owners manual there is/should be a chart that lists the unlock and safety combinations. This would be your best source of information.

Our GE Profile JTP18 keeps flashing "door lock" since we ran a self clean

most of the time a simple fix.... http://www.geappliances.com/search/fast/infobase/10004586.htm
you have to trick the door lock mech into cycling through the cleaning process (takes about 20 seconds)
Print Range - “LOCKED DOOR” flashes in the display

If “LOCKED DOOR” is flashing in the display of your range or oven, and the self-clean cycle has not been selected, follow the steps below to reset your control:

Motorized Switch
    1. With the door open, locate the door jamb switch on the face of the oven. It will look like a small black post or dowel.
    2. Push it in until the oven cavity light goes off, indicating that the oven believes the door is closed.
    3. While you hold the door jamb switch in this position, complete the following steps.
    4. Press the Clean pad, wait 10 seconds.
    5. When the cycle initiates, press the clear/off or cancel pad immediately to cancel it.
    6. Wait 10 seconds for the display to clear.
    7. The door should unlock and there should not be a need for service.
Manual Switch
    1. Press the Clean pad.
    2. Close the door.
    3. Slide the latch to lock the door.
    4. Hit the cancel button immediately.
    5. Unlock the door.
If the above does not correct the situation, a service technician will need to check your cooking product. To obtain in or out of warranty repair on Major Appliances, you may call 1-800-GE-CARES (800-432-2737) or schedule service online.
