YP-S5J connetced to PC / Wondows XP

I plug in the usb cable and the player says you are connected, but radio or music or pictures do not sound or show. The devise looks like dead, although the PC recognizes it in the explorer window.
I cannot switch off the player (for just charging)....
I have an older plaer also, which plays while connected to a PC.
SO I am not sure if this is bug or feature......
Thanks for help in advance

SOURCE: Samsung YP-U3 MP3 Player Problem connection

Found the solution on another site (http://www.everythingusb.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=11238). To quote user AFHavemann :

"* Plug in the player so the USB bus can see it.

* Once it’s recognized (i.e., the device screen reads "Charging" and "USB Disconnected"), go to the Control Panel and click "System"

* Choose "Hardware" then "Device Manager" tab.

* Look for the name of your device under “Portable Devices” in the list

* If the name of your player is under “MTP Device” then the correct drivers are probably loaded

* Right-click on the name of your device and click "Properties"

* Click “Update Driver”"

Then follow the prompts from there. The computer searches for the driver software, etc., and reinstalls/resets information related to the device, which fixed things such that the computer will now recognize the device. I'm not sure what causes the problem, but this solution seems to reset whatever's gone wrong.

SOURCE: YP-P2 is not recognized at all as a device from my PC and Laptop!

I tried this from another site. I totally unplugged my computer. Let it sit for AT LEAST 10 seconds. ( I did mine for about a minute) plugged it back up, turned on the puter and opened up my music stuff (rhapsody) and plugged the player back in. recognized immediately. I don't think you have to open up your music suit, i just did that. I think the key is to unplug the puter. Good Luck and happy holidays!

I need a charger for my samsung yp-k3 2gb mp3

The MP3 player is charged by connecting the supplied USB cable to the MP3 player and then plugging the other end of the USB cable into the USB port of a working computer.
This cable is also used to copy music files, video and photos to the MP3 player from the computer.

My Samsung YP-S2 Mp3 player can't be recognised by computers when I plug it in through the usb input (it used to work), therefore I'm not able to upload music on it anymore. How can I fix this bug?

Samsung Player Is No Longer Detected By Windows XP, Vista, Emodio Or
Samsung Media Studio.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When your computer doesn't recognize your Samsung MP3 player, programs
such as Samsung Media Studio (SMS), Emodio, Windows Media Player
(10 or 11) do not allow you to transfer files to your player.
In SMS and Emodio, the portable icon appears grayed out.
In Windows Media Player, you are prompted to connect a device.
Your PC may fail to recognize your player for a variety of reasons.
To begin troubleshooting, scroll down, and then click the operating
system your computer is currently running.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
General Operating System Information
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
On Windows computers, Samsung MP3 players require at least Windows XP
Service Pack 2. If you have an older operating system such as Windows
2000 or Windows 98, your computer won't recognize your player until you
upgrade your PC to at least Windows XP Service Pack 2.
If your PC is running Linux or MAC, it will not recognize some MP3
players that support only MTP mode. However, it will recognize players
that support UMS mode and list them as mass storage devices.
The following Samsung MP3 players support UMS: YP-U1, YP-U2, YP-U3,
YP-U4, YP-U5, and YP-S2.
The following Samsung MP3 players support both MTP and UMS mode: YP-Z5
and YP-P3.
Windows Vista may fail to detect you device if the player is not
connected properly, Windows Media Player is not installed or has become
corrupted, Vista is unable to install the MTP drivers, or the MTP patch
is not installed.
You can check it out further by going to this website and entering the information about your player

Samsung YP-S3 not recognized by computer

I think you have answered the question yourself. Change the USB cable.
If that doesn't make any difference try searching for the hardware again. Check the settings and drivers are working. Roll back the driver etc.

How do you down load music from CD on to your YP-Z5 MP3 ?

you should have a usb cable to connect the player to the pc.
if you have a music folder, open it, choose files you want to load, open edit at the top of the page, hit copy, then open the disk in my computer that is the player, and hit paste under edit at the top tool bar
