No sound from Creative Labs Speakers- Please help

Hi,

I have recently been having a problem with getting sound from my surround sound speakers. They are CREATIVE LABS 5:1 surround sound and I used them before and they worked fine on my computer.

I think the problem started when I rebooted my computer because of a virus but I have re-installed the sound drivers for my Dell Dimension PC and normal dell speakers work fine, there are generally no sound problems at all only when I plug in my surround sound speakers.

The weird thing is, when I plug earphones into the the volume control unit for the speakers I can hear sound, just nothing from the subwoofer or satellite speakers.

I have done all the usual stuff like change control panel settings for my sound card to 5:1 and tested the speakers. But still nothing works. Like I said, I used these before and now they dont work!

Please help :(

To localised your problem, try to plug your speakers to other sound source like mp3 player ,stereo system. if still no sound coming from it,your problem is within the speaker system. perhaps the audio power amplifier ic inside, need to be replaced.

Connect creative 4.1 speakers with laptop at time 2 speaker work

i assume ur mother board supports surround sound an ur using windows os. go to control panel - sounds and audio devices - speaker settings-advanced - speaker set up with the drop down menu. select surround sound - apply - ok.
if ur using surround audio drivers like realtek, etc. the settings console should have somewhat similar options like audio input/output (I/O) options. select surround sound speaker setting and configure which audio port should be audio output ports. driver settings can be accessed from control panel too. to access control panel click on start menu there u'll see the control panel menu.

Not enough jack

You need to buy an external sound card, without which you will not be able to get much from your speakers. It will not produce surround sound.

The sound card will give you required jacks and will produce real good sound. You may try audigy cards from creative.

I have a creative audigy Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Sound Card and Creative 7.1 surround sound speakers. When I was using XP all 7 speakers worked perfectly. Now with my newer Vista machine,...

Uninstall all sound drivers for the card. Delete all folder and use search to locate everything related to the sound card. Remove card , turn comp on w/o card. Turn off reinsert card.
Should fix it.
Vista has many, many issues like this.
If you have more types of sound listed in "SOUNDS" delete all but Audigy.
Re-install drivers AFTER you get ALL NEW VISTA UPDATES>

I had bought new creative inspire m4500 but instead of four only

I found the solution to my own problem.

(First install the software that is provided in the form of a CD with your SoundBlaster. I had to buy a 5.1VX Creative Sound Blaster for my Creative Inspire M4500 4.1 speakers.)

Go to the folder ‘Creative’ which you may find in your Program Files.
Then double click on the following one after the other:
Creative
SB5.1VX
Surround Mixer
SurMixer (SurMixer.exe)

Now go to EAX.
Select CMSS 3D.
Check on the box ‘Enable CMSS 3D Surround.’
Select ‘Stereo Surround.’

Hope your problem is solved now:))
