How do you get music to save on a new 4gb memory card on a nokia E5 instead of saving in phone memory

Transfer music from a computer
You can use the following methods to transfer music:

• To install Nokia Ovi Player to manage and organize your music files, download
the PC software from www.ovi.com, and follow the instructions.

• To view your device on a computer as a mass memory device where you can
transfer any data files, make the connection with a compatible USB data cable
or Bluetooth connectivity. If you are using a USB data cable, select Mass
storage as the USB connection mode. A compatible memory card must be
inserted in the device.

• To synchronize music with Windows Media Player, connect a compatible USB
data cable, and select PC Suite as the USB connection mode. A compatible
memory card must be inserted in the device.

To change the default USB connection mode, select Menu > Ctrl. panel >
Connectivity > USB and USB connection mode.

I hope this information will be helpful. Thank you for using FixYa!

There are different ways of transferring music.if you have a PC, you can use PC Suite to transfer music files.the nice software that comes with the phone. If you have a Mac, you can use Nokia Multimedia Transfer (free download) and sync it with your iTunes.

I cant download music from my computer onto my phone. i have a memory card too.

This will depend on your phone. If your computer has bluetooth, you can pair your phone with your computer to transfer files this way (see your phone's instruction manual). Otherwise you will need to use the sync cable (be it USB or proprietary) to hook up your phone to your computer to transfer files. Without a specific model, I cannot help you more.

How do you download music from our computer to the

It is hard to provide any useful suggestions without knowing the type of cell phone your son is using.

Normally he would put the memory card in the cell phone microSD slot (provided it can support 2gb card), plug the USB cable from computer to cell phone (if it supports this). Normally the phone will have also got some software apps CD which should be loaded to computer. This will provide the necessary functions to load music files to the phone.

Alternative to USB is bluetooth connection which both the computer and the cell phone will have to support. He can transfer music files that way.

I am not sure if he can copy the files directly from the computer to the memory card and play it on the cell phone as data formats are not standard. Also iTunes files need to converted to mp3 format. If these are protected iTunes files then it becomes a bit harder - best to burn a CD and then rip into mp3 format.

Once again these suggestions are useless if cell phone cannot play music (mp3 or WMA etc) files, does not have microSD slot, does not have USB or bluetooth support.

How do i put music on my sony ericsson phone from a laptop

To put music on your W810i cellphone, connect it to your laptop with the usb cable. If you don't have the cable use a memory stick. The phone or card will show up as a removable drive on your computer in the Windows Explorer. Copy folders of music into the MP3 directory. When your phone is disconnected or the card is inserted, it will take several moments to index the music, and then your music will appear in the music listings.
