I finally downloaded the jetmouse v1.3 key generator and the key it provided worked perfectly. I installed the map on my GPS and now I can drive around Taiwan like a local; always knowing where I am going. Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeetness.

SOURCE: i have a garmin gps72

You need to find what Map Datum your map is using, it should be printed in the margin or the title of the map. Then you need to set the Map Datum the same value in the GPS 72 (Main menu, Location Tab). Most modern maps and charts use WGS84 but I wouldn't know for Saudi Arabia.

SOURCE: Formating the Zumo 550 GPS

Hi, I had a very similar problem with my Zumo 550. It turned out to be the SD card. I had an 8gb card full of MP3 tracks and the unit indexes them before working properly.

I removed the SD card all was well again

How to update my garmine nuvi

To update the maps you need first to register it. Connect it to your computer and go to www.garmin.com Select your country and then click on myGarmin. Then click on Register your Garmn Product. Follow the prompts. You'll be asked to create a username and password. Write them down and remember them as you'll need them anytime you update your maps.
After you've registered go into myGarmin and click on myMaps. Your maps will be shown and if there's an update it will show Update Available. Click on this and it'll bring you to the download site. You'll have the option to download if you have broadband or to buy by dvd if you don't. You'll need a credit card to pay.

To update your software: If you're updating the map it will normally first update your software but if you only want to update the software and not the map connect your satnav to your computer and download webupdater from http://www8.garmin.com/support/collection.jsp?product=999-99999-27 and install it. When it's installed it'll look for updates to your software. Follow the prompts.

How can i upgrade my nuvi 205

There are several updates / upgrades for the Gamin nuvi line GPS units. All come directly from the Garmin website at www.garmin.com. All the updates requires a computer with a USB port, USB cable included with the GPS and the GPS itself.

Go to:

http://www.garmin.com/products/webupdater/howtoinstall.jsp

This page is the home of the Garmin WebUpdater. Follow the detailed steps to update your nuvi's firmware. It's quick, painless and best of all, free.

The next step is to update (or even change the country) street level maps to the lastest version. There are a couple of options available. A "nuMaps Onetime" purchase of a single map area (ie North America 2011, Europe 2011, etc.) for as little as $70, "nuMaps Lifetime" which for about $120, provides up to four (4) updates per year, for life of the nuvi (which is a pretty good deal!) and finally, depending on a couple of variables such as date of purchase, you might be eligible for a one time free upgrade. All three of these options are explained in detail at:

http://www.garmin.com/updatemaps/

Lastly, if you have any questions related to your nuvi, maps, firmware, or how to obtain or install them, you can telephone (or email if you wish) Garmin Customer Support for free, expert help using the link below:

My Tom Tom is two years old and I was told that I should upgrade the maps each year. How do I go about doing that?

The Tomtom map updates are available by subscription from www.Tomtom.com Under most conditions it is not really necessary to update every year. The updates run about $40 per year. The best option on most of the small GPS units under $100 is to use it for 2-3 years and then just sell the older one and buy a new unit. The reason I say this is because the map updates only update the maps not the features or the software. The newer units will have new features and options for the same price as you would get with buying a map update your the older unit.

I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.

The start up sez I need updates I have a garmin 225w nuvi premium bundle but I don't want to pay for it, this thing was $$$$. Who knows how to update for free?

There re no such thing as free updates. Garmin have always overcharged for their maps. Sell It and buy a cheaper GPS is about your only option if you can't afford the maps. Besides 3.5 GPS are now too old for most map companies to support. Start looking for a 4.5 or 7.0" GPS with new ,maps cheaper than an upgrade

Tom Tom only has Guam map since update

That is really strange!
I can only suggest that you verify what MAPs are physically on your TomTom device by connecting it to a PC/LAPTOP and use Windows Explorer to look at your GPS drive folders: should see a folder for each 'country' (like GUAM).
The normal way to check which maps are registred and loaded on your device is to use TomTom Home -> Update maps function: it will show you the status or whereabout of any Maps that you have loaded or backup and which one can be purchased.
Hope it helps: let me know how you go.
ps.i f you wisely backup your device on a regular basis (via TomTom Home or direct copy to your PC/LAPTOP), you could always RESTORE FROM BACKUP and start again.
