Hi,

Assuming that the VGA to RCA cable/adapter is functioning correctly, then what might be required are:

  • initially lower the screen resolution of the Sony Vaio laptop to the lowest possible;
  • press F? key to cycle on the display choices, LCD, LCD+TV and TV only. The F? key would be the one with the small monitor icon.
Hope that this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Where is the projector connection on vaio fit

1

Insert one end of the VGA cable into your Sony Vaio. This is located on the left side of your computer.
2

Turn off the Infocus projector before connecting the opposite end of the VGA cable into the projector. The VGA input slot is located in the back of the projector.
3

Turn on the projector and allow time for it warm up.
4

Change the video output source on your computer to display through the projector. Press the "Windows" button and then "LCD/CRT" button on your Vaio keyboard to change the display source. On a Sony Vaio, the "LCD/CRT" button is usually "F7."
5

Focus the projector to most effectively display content from your computer. You can manually focus the projector or press the "Auto focus" button on the top of the projector.

If the cable works on another device but not on your computer, you probably need to program the laptop to port the signal out to the HDMI cable. look on your help file in the laptop. it should show you.

What cable do I need to connect my Sony vaio VGN FS640 Laptop to my RCA TV and where does this cable connect to, on my laptop? My RCA TV has a SVideo connection.

To output video from your laptop you will need to use VGA out.

What you want to buy is a VGA to S-Video adapter, making sure that both the VGA and S-Video have male connectors.

This solution will not output audio.

Connecting Sony Vaio to Samsung TV

Hello,
The problem is the cable. Those converter cables rarely work. they can't translate the scan rates properly. You need a converter box for the video signal, and get a cable to plug into the headphone jack on the laptop to send sound to the audio input on the TV. Here's a link to an example of the type of box you need to get the video working.

Hope this helps!
