I have a frigidaire, front load washer that will fill up, set for a long time (not wash) then drain and spin. The washer fills with water and makes small clicking sounds like it is going through the cycles but does not wash or spin. When I rotate the drum the motor shaft moves but the motor shaft does not move throughout the washing/spinning cycle. It does pumpout at the proper cycle.I have cleaned the coins and things from the pump inlet.
Checking brushes can normally be done in situ. you will need a simple multimeter to put across brushes to check continuity but disconnect wires to brushes before doing this. worn brushes would normally cause no motor rotation at all.
replacing brushes can sometimes be done in situ but often it is easier to get the motor out.

Fault may well be motor brushes need replacing. check continuity across the brushes - you should be able to do this with motor in situ

Hi friend, thanks for your post!
I see that your Frigidaire washer is not washing or spinning but everything else is working properly. I would advise you to check over the drain hose, make sure it is not restricted or too far down the drain pipe. If that checks out it could be a possible problem with your motor or control panel. One of those components could need to be replaced and for proper replacement I would recommend assistance from a technician to have a proper diagnosis completed. I hope this is helpful. -Matt

I do not know how to check the continuity but will try to find out.I assume you mean I can check but not replace the brushes in situ?
You should also know that we feel the spin cycle has been slow for several months prior to the recent problem.Does this still sound like the brushes??
