Cavalier convertible rearview mirror fell off

windshield's are made of laminated glass so they shatter into tiny pieces when in an accident so do not cut as bad , the rearview mirror has pulled the first layer of laminate away , the windshield will be weakened by this and could shatter at any time , particulary over rough/bumpy ground, it cannot be repaired so you will need to replace the shield , as for who designed the mirror he wasn't very clever !

when your mirror fell off the metal bracket stood with the mirror
unscrew it
there a special glue for fix it on windshield

should just be a torx 15 also t15 screw driver to unscrew it and u must use the rearview mirror adhesive sold at most parts stores

get a rearview mirror glue kit and follow the instructions.

go to a workshop

you usually dont...it is installed on the windshield at the manufacturer using a super hard epoxy.

At this point, I'd take it to a glass shop that does windshields and let them try the commercial adhesive.

there is a small allenwrench bolt in the mirror back out the bolt and install then tighten back up

Hiya...ALL factory-installed rearview mirrors are installed with different wires due to options.
About 6 different rearview mirrors are installed with those options such as On-Star, light, compass, and those features which use different wires....THIS CANNOT be modified with different rearview mirror....**for example, the Equinox owner attempt to pull out a factory-installed base rearview mirror and put in different one that has compass/temperature built into the rearview mirror**

However, the wires are located inside the front headliner which requires removing the sunvisor (and possible removal of interior plastic trim part at the left/right ends of the windshield) prior to pull the headliner down, and a small metal philips or torx screw is used to secure the rearview mirror onto the bracket glued to the windshield.

The best solution is to leave the original factory-installed rearview mirror in place.
