If the 10 most hated cameras in the world were listed, this camera would be on the list.
My advice is don't even try to turn it on.
If you turn it on and use it and then look at the result you will be sorry you turned it on.
It was made in 2005 and was an instant failure.

SOURCE: problems with getting pictures from a camera

Forget the USB cable...easiest way..buy an inexpensive card reader to download your pictures to a folder you create on your desktop.

The easiest way is a USB card reader for the computer. Remove the storage card and put it in the reader. It will be cheaper than a cable unless it is a standard USB connector lead USB to Mini-USB.

Slide back my power on/off cover on my DC SLIM 524 Digital Camera But thelens do not go back.
Most of the time this is caused by dirt, grit or sand in the lens mechanism. The best way to fix this is to use an air compressor. Put the nozzle to the space between the lens and the camera and blow air into the space, you may have to do it a few time until its clean. Let me know if you have any more problems, and don't forget to rate my answer a fixya.
