Motherboard shorted I have a MARS Foxconn motherboard ,i have a problem with this mobo , in a few words this mobo looks dead ( this happened after a possible short circuit from the back of the northbridge to the metallic mobo tray ) I already check the PSU two times with a PSU tester and the PSU is OK , i swap this Foxconn MARS mobo and installed a older Foxconn 945P7AA Motherboard and the PC with this older mobo is working properly OK ,I have connected the 24 pin connector and also the extra 8 pin power connector to the CPU , the Power Supply is a Seasoinic 650W energy plus, the blue Standby LED on the Foxconn MARS motherboard dont light on when I switch the PSU on,must be for sure a problem with the MARS mobo , but where ? what can I do? I have a expensive multimeter , thank you for the help

Unless you have about a $3000 soldering machine and lots of skills soldering, i would say just get a new mobo. the cost to fix it would be lots more than its worth

Foxconn 945G7MA-8EKRS2 Motherboard will not post with pentium d cpu ,i have even updated with the lates bios flash,

Good day,
According to Intel 945G chipset supports Celeron D up to Core2Duo. Intel Gigabyte's 945 DS3 even supports up to Core2Quad. GByte Foxconn has 3 mobo bios from there site. Foxconn
According to their date: Latest to oldest
4BFF1P56 No Version 4BFF1P40
Have you tried installing the no version bios? In my experience some latest bios have some problems with other devices so try to use the no version bios. or try a different mobo bios with the same chipset from Foxconn. below are two foxconn mobo models i can't see the difference.
945G7MA-8EKRS2 945G7MA-8EKRS2H
Update at your own risk..
hope this helps, thanks for posting.

I have a foxconn motherboard (G33M02) and the LED is flashing orange and it will not power on. I have used the PSU on another computer and it work and when i used a different PSU the LED is steady orange...

In that cse you must try 2 more things:
1 - remove all disks and try to boot in the BIOS - if it works then one of your disk is dead and blocks the motherboard. Find it by elimination and replace it. If it doesn't work then
2 - replace the memory, video card  and processor (in this order) and again try to boot in the BIOS. If everything fails then your mobo is dead, replace it.

Is a HP Pavilion MCP73M01H1 (Napa) the same as a Foxconn M7PMX-S?

oh wow. Why would the lady say such an ignorant thing with such conviction. This is just nonsense as we all know companies outsource all the time, precisely Retail driven, close to the end user companies like HP and Dell. PRODUCING is not the same as contracting out a set of mobos like the gentlemen correctly suspected of being the same as a foxconn model. I happen to have an HP with a foxconn mobo (and to the guru lady, it seems to also have Nvidia's signature, so really, what you see here, is Nvidia provides tech, Foxconn manpower and efficiency, and HP sales and marketing and the product sells, but suggesting HP which cant get to the phone to keep up support go out and actually manufacture their own mobos is the stuff of laziness).

To the gentleman asking, I have looked at the specs and your analysis seems to be right on. Here's another exact HP product (the one I own, given another HP special foxconn mobo name given the sheer volume of business these folks generate to foxconn. It does seem to get often confusing though and if I were you, and you seem to be quite familiar with hardware and the such, if you were to attempt a flash, make sure to backup first, that is the only harm you will cause to your computer, if you are not cautious even when you're certain. Here's the link to which I mentioned so many times:

I don´t have the foxconn motherboard manual "661m08"

Most mobo's have the connection points printed on them. Use a strong flashlight and look for some pins that have the following words printed near them (PW or PWR, RS or RST, HDD LED, etc) They should all be grouped together in the same corner of the mobo. Have you tried googling the motherboad name to find a manual? I have done that on a few occasions and got lucky.
