Water and steam will not come out of my newly opened for use Sharper Image Steam cleaner. A clicking sound is heard and it vacuums, but no solution comes out to steam clean. Where should I go to ge

This is an older model I received as a gift, so when I tried to use it recently to pick up a spilled drink, the vacuum worked but the water and steam did not. I did wait for the water to heat up, but it did not come out. Should I trash the machine or is it worth repairing Is it something simple to repair? I've taken it apart, but the problem cannot be detected visually. The pump clicks but nothing comes out. The water heater gets very hot so I doubt water is getting to that point. Any suggestions may help. Thanks, Byron Dixon

Usually when it won't pick up water is because the bucket isn't seating all of the way down. Or there is a window gasket or seal, it goes bertween the clear window and the bucket, if it is missing, yiu get no suction thru that clear window. The other is on the one side of the lid for the bucket is a filter, is it clean? And the seal that that filter sits on, is it sealing? If the moror is running, it is sucking, but any leak will cause it to loose that suction.

I had the same problem. I put vinegar in the reservoir for a few days, it worked the tube that takes in the water was clogged.

I''m looking for the cap that holds the water in the reservior, do you know where I can buy one?

You can probably just blow it out with the air compressor. If you have a air pressure regulator on the air compressor then I would turn it down to about 30-40 psi. Then try to blow out the line.

I have had an Aquamark AM680 steam cleaner for some time without opening the box. Now I can't find instructions for it.

It sounds like the pump that pumps the water to the heater is faulty. Try the non-return valve on the pump it may be sticking.

My Shark steam cleaner just stopped working - doesn't make steam anymore. Is there a way to fix it.

I have the same problem - just heard from the support tech to soak the "device" in 1/2 vinegar and 1/2 water. Read on line a customer used vinegar in the device itself, heated it up until it made steam, then emptied it and used distilled water and it was fine. I haven't tried it yet, so we'll see if either solution works . . .

Dead shark in the water

Call them at 1-800-798-7398
Have the model number, the country it was made in and the date it was made. All found on sticker on bottom of unit. They are foreigners that answer the phone, so be prepared to spell everything. It takes 3 weeks to get the parts but I found them to be inexpensive.

Steam and spray

the heater may be clogged. You will have to take it aprt, pull the hoses off, using somothing small, clean out the prots that the hoses hook to. After that, blow thru it if you can to see if air comes out. Then after it is put back together, put a mix of vinegar and water in and let it run thru until it works good again. Calicum and such plug up the works and just need to be cleaned out.
