IT MAY SOUND WIERD BUT SAME HAPPENED TO ME, CHECK THE POWER CORD, NOT WHERE IT GOES INTO THE WALL, BUT WHERE IT GOES INTO THE TV, TRUST ME, JUST PUSH IT IN MORE.

is the control board the one with the rca jacks on it,for sound and video input?if so email me at [email protected],i need one.

See I cant cross that part number and I have all the boards sitting in front of me. That number is the akai part number, but not the actual number of the board. There are 2 boards that they call main in the service manual, the main control board which actually drives the panal, and the "main video board" which handels the video inputs and on screen displays.

PCB failure analysis
1. MAIN CONTROL : a. Abnormal noise on screen. b. No picture.
2. MAIN (video): a. Lacking color, Bad color scale.
b. No voice.
c. No picture but with signals output, OSD
and back light.

If you can determine which of the 2 boards is the problem, I can sell you a new replacement for $125 shipped.

Basicall....Control board is no picture at all.

Main board is no picture, but on screen displays work.

Thats a real tough call on your problem as the set acts like its working normal and then gives out. It could be any number of things, but mostlikely somthing is drawing too much power causing a protection fault hence the power off. These types of problems are very hard to diagnose as the stuff your looking at looks good, its not until it warms up (even being a few seconds or so) that they go bad. You can allways put a meter on the VA and VS to see if there is a flucuation in voltage or even a spike and that could tell you possibly which board is the culpret, but the best is to replace and not repair as switching supplys can be a pain.

replace the speakers my friend. you had probably turned on the speakers so loudly that the lead inside the speaker got loose thats why its faulty now.

so simple ye hard to do. replace the power supply...

if its still under warranty or extended warranty, you can have it replaced.

Depending on the location of the lines, like if they are in a group close to each other, or all over the screen they could be a couple of things.. If they are grouped in a certain quadrent of the screen, one of your buffer boards is bad, they run along the top and bottom of the screen and are cheap and easy to replace. If the lines are all over the screen, mostlikly the main control board is bad and will have to be replaced.. If that dosent fix the problem then your panal is shot.. Good luck.. Cheap parts on ebay.

Main control board is bad. Very common problem with these sets for some reason.
