Horizontal banding on prints

Hello. I am getting horizontal banding on my prints, type, images, etc. All the ink cartridges are full. I've cleaned the nozzles, heads, etc. Nothing seems to help.

Thanks,
Jamie

I did the head allignment, nozzle test then head cleaning and set the quality to best on plain paper and it solved this problem well enough to make the picture legible but the quality is still grainy

Why is my printer missing lines

I think you need to change your ink cartridge.

I am trying to print and nothing comes out on paper. cartridge black half full and color full and it will not print anything from an open document to a new document with some typing on it. lexmark z600...

Try to clean the print cartridge nozzles. On your computer, go to Start menu > All Programs / Programs > Lexmark Z600 Series > select Lexmark Solution Center. From the Maintenance tab, select Clean to fix horizontal streaks. Your printer will then print a clean test page forcing ink through the cartridge nozzles and clean them. Try to print your document again and to check if print quality is achieved.

Thank you Kitty but I'm not clear on how cleaning the Print Heads and replacing toner would fix this faded banding issue. I printed long Vertical bars of Magenta, Cyan, Yellow and Black. All colors fad at...

you need to clear the rollers and the heat drum (fixes the image and melts the toner onto the paper) if you have done any two sided copy, or have used paper with an image on one side, the ink may have gotten onto the roller and left a trace which would account for the banding being in the same place all the time. the rollers and etc are difficult to get at, and not really a job for amateurs

you will have to replace your cartridge, even if the printer still shows a good ink level bare in mind that is only estimativ. After you replace the cartridge you no longer have a problem.

HORIZONTAL PINK LINES

The nozzle check pattern should be complete, no gaps and breaks on the lines. Try to turn of highspeed printing, It is on the advanced tab of the printer properties window.

Canon MP980 prints horizontal pink lines across

try to change the color ink. horizontal banding (the pink or other color lines appearing means horizontal banding) when there is a problem on one of the heating element of the printer head. since almost all canon printers have head built in the inks, replacing the faulty ink will solve the problem. if not then the controller of printhead on the carriage and mainboard needs to be checked.

Epson stylus C88 makes black horizontal lines on the print

This "banding" is caused by uneven ink flow through the print nozzles.

Have you tried a cleaning cycle? If not, try one (right click the little printer icon in the bottom right corner of the screen and select head clean). Now run a nozzle check (right click the little printer icon in the bottom right corner of the screen and select nozzle check). Is there any sign of ink on the paper. Try up to three
cleaning cycles. If ink is now flowing, but not yet perfectly, don't carry out any more cleaning cycles. Just leave the printer for 24 hours (to allow any air in the print head to disperse). Then repeat the cleaning cycle/wait process. It may take a while to restore a perfect nozzle check print.

If you have already done lots of head cleans with no perfect results, are you sure you have good ink cartridges properly installed? The printer determines the amount of ink left in the cartridge by counting the number of ink "shots" when printing, head cleaning etc. This information is stored in the "chip" on the cartridge. Thus, it is not an actual measurement of the ink left, but an estimate calculated by subtracting the total shots from the original full ink quantity. This estimate can sometimes be grossly in error, usually due to a cartridge replacement not being carried out correctly. To eliminate this possibility, buy a new set of compatibles on E-Bay - they're very cheap. You can always re-use the old ones later if it turns out they DO have ink in them.

If none of the above works, then you may have blocked print head nozzles. You can try soaking the print heads for 24 hours (or more), as follows. Turn the printer on, and as soon as the print head moves out of its parking position, pull the power cord out of the back, or turn the printer off at the mains. You may now carefully move the print head by hand over to the left hand side out of the way. Look inside the print head parking area on the right and you will see a small rubber cup that comes up to cover the print nozzles when the head is parked (to stop it drying out). Use a syringe or dropper to fill this cup with head cleaning fluid or distilled water. DO NOT USE TAP WATER. Carefully push the print head by hand fully into its parking position so that the cup full of fluid
comes up over the print head. Do not turn the printer on at any stage in this process. Leave this for at least 24 hours, then turn the printer on and try a head clean/nozzle check again. If you get any black ink on the nozzle check, then there is hope! Repeat the process until you get a full black nozzle check. If nothing, repeat the process once more.

If still nothing, post a new comment detailing what you have done and the results.

Horizontal bands

Is the band are white or black ????

If white, you might have a bad cartridge : replace it.

If black, you will need to clean your printhead and sometime under the carriage there's accumulation of ink....

MP700 Magenta horizontal stripes

I have the same problem. Here's the advice I found somewhere on the internet:

If a jet (nozzle) in your cartridge has gone bad you will see horizontal bands and/or white streaks in your print. Print characteristics may appear incomplete and/or the filled in areas on may not show up.
1) Run some warm water over the print head. This can wash away any ink which might have dried in the cartridge print head. Dry the cartridge with a lint-free cloth before placing back into the printer.

2) Clean the contacts on the cartridge (the copper colored circuitry) and the contacts where the cartridge clips into the printer with water or alcohol. After cleaning, insert and remove the cartridge from the printer a few times to be sure you have a good connection between contacts on the cartridge and the printer.

3) If your print is smeared cleaning the wiper blade may fix the problem. Do this according to your printer manual instructions.

Blurred bands in prints

Try changing ink cartridge. Print only "grayscale" and if that happens, you need a black cartridge changed. If, not color
