If the set was used for a long time it is possible that there is a feedback due to some capacitor leak within the circuit. use a dryer or wash off PCB and all the board to dry before the battery is plugged back . Check if the fault clears or improves, if so repeat.

HOW DO I GET SILENT MODE OFF

To turn the Silent Mode OFF for your handset to ring, press and hold the # key on your handset for about 10 seconds. Your handset will beep and this will indicate that the Silent Mode has been turned OFF.

Motorola model L803 configuration

My mother's portable handsets needed battery replacements, and since the older model required harder-to-find, more expensive batteries, we opted to get her a whole new set. These are fairly light weight, but feel sturdy. All batteries and necessary equipment was included. The base has a nice handset location feature - when you press the button, all the handsets will make tone noises so you can find them and will continue to do so until you've seated all handsets in the cradle or until you press the button again. Other sets I've seen really required two people - where one would have to keep pressing the button while the other person did a hunt-n-seek. This is far more practical if you're home alone and/or live alone and have misplaced a handset. There are 10 ringtones available - these are the loud MIDI type tones, not the pretty melodies you get on an iPhone - but they range from loud ringer to melodic and each handset can be set to a different volume. The base station needs to connect to a phone line, but the other handsets need their bases connected to power only. This is a great feature for those who live in older homes where the phone jacks are few & far between... and gives you more choices on where to locate a phone. My mother & I have conversed on the phone - she can hear me really well and vice versa. So far, the units have a very acceptable battery life before draining enough to cause noise. This is a nice ensemble at a very reasonable price.

Clicking on handsets, loss of signal strength.

We decided to remove each handset, one at a time, from the system to see if we could determine if any of them were defective and maybe the cause of our problems. We took handset #1 and removed its battery. We continued to have the clicking and other noise. We put the battery back in handset #1 and removed the battery of handset #2. Immediately we noticed we did not experience the noise and clicking problems. We have concluded that handset #2 is defective. To verify we will keep handset #2 out of service for a week. At the end of a week we will reinstall the battery and if we have noise and clicking we have verified handset #2 is defective, the cause of our noise and clicking and needs to be replaced. Just to be on the safe side we will continue testing each additional handset to verify if any others are defective.

02 silverado gas tank popping noise after startup & shutdown

It could just be the heat shield around your exhaust expanding and contracting again when your engine cools down. Sounds like a tin can type of popping noise?? If it is that's the heat sheild from the engine that protect's the spark plug wire and around under the truck cabin. Good luck and hope you find where the noise is coming from.
