It could be that your waste pipe is pushed to far down into the drain not giving you an air break between the waste pipe and the water in the bottom of the drain pipe causing the water to syphon out and never allowing the machine to fill to its operating level. raise your waste pipe up until you have an air gap inside your drain pipe and fix it in this positionwith the hose crook that came with the machine or purchase one for a few pence if you have lost it.

My whirlpool cabrio7600 top load washer starts up filling with water an doesnt stop filling.

Hi.
If the water inlet is faulty the water flow will only stop if you turn the wall tap off...
If the fault is in the machine the inlet will stop when the machine or the electricity is turned off.
If the water flow stops when electricity is halted it indicates that the inlet is functioning properly. There are a number of things which can cause the inlet to not turn off, such as the water level sensor is faulty or blocked. It could even be that the motor controller is faulty.
Unless it is a simple inlet change I recommend that you let a technician look at your machine.
Good luck,
Nomess

Why the inlet valve is not stopping running water?

What happens with such electrically operated valves, is that a calcium (or other mineral buildup) prevents the rubber seals from stopping water flow. You need to replace the valve(s), or clean them thoroughly, using either LimeAway or CLR.

THE WATER IS NOT STOPPING, JUST KEEPS PUTTING WATER INTO THE WASHER KENMORE 90 SERIES

There are two possible causes of the water not stopping. First is the water inlet valves stuck in the open position and second is the pressure switch not tripping when the correct water level is reached. Turn off or unplug the machine while it is filling and if the water doesn't stop, the water inlet valve/s is/are indeed stuck in the open position. Replacing the water inlet valve assembly should solve the problem.

But if the water stops, the problem is the pressure switch stuck in the empty position. Disconnect power then raise the console up and hinge it at the rear of the machine to access the pressure switch. It is the part with the small clear hose attached to it. Detach the hose and blow air down into it including the pressure switch itself. Replace the pressure switch if the problem persists.

Click on the link below for the detailed procedure in raising the console and removing the cabinet to access and replace the water inlet valve assembly.

Water continues to run into the washing machine through the whole wash cycle and even when the machine is off. I have to keep the tape turned off. other than that the washing machine functions normally.

Hi Welcome to FixYa I am Kelly. You have debris inside your water inlet valve. You can try to clean it by doing the following:

- First remove both hoses from the water inlet valve and remove the inlet screens of the water valve.
(Use a knife blade on the outer part of the screens to remove them from the water valve)
- Connect both hoses to the water inlet valve without the inlet screens.
- Connect ONE hose to the wall faucet
- Place ONE hose in a bucket

SELECT WARM WASH and start wash fill

Water should flow into the washer and the bucket. Use the handle of a screwdriver and tap the hose connections of the inlet water valve for about 20 seconds. (your trying to free the debris from the inlet water valve diaphram)

Stop Fill

Reverse Hose connection at the wall.... i.e. hook up other hose and disconnect the one you had connected. Place the hose you disconnected from the wall into the bucket.

START warm fill

Water should flow into the washer and the bucket. Use the handle of a screwdriver and tap the hose connections of the inlet water valve for about 20 seconds. (your STILL trying to free the debris from the inlet water valve diaphrams)

STOP FILL

- Connect hose to wall connection
- WASH the inlet screens under slowly running water until both sides are clean
- Remove hoses from the water inlet valve and install the inlet screens.
- Reconnect hoses and turn on water supply

TEST HOT and COLD fill

Turn off machine.... IF the debris was freed the water flow will stop when the machine is turned off.

If this flushing attempt does not correct your constant water flow the remedy is to replace the water inlet valve on your washer.

I can help with locating parts ON-Line but will need your model number to help you should you require a water valve.

Hopefully you are able to clear the debris by doing the above. (50 - 50 chance of it working)

Thanks for Choosing FixYa,
Kelly

It keeps stopping flashing LF,I don't have the manual, what does LF mean?

Hello there:
LF Long Fill If the water fill time exceeds ten minutes, the water valves are turned off and LF is flashed.

Press STOP/CANCEL to clear the display. furthermore please check the following that may apply
It's slow to fill Check to see if there's good water volume coming through the hoses attached to the washing machine. If there is, check to see if the screens inside the water-inlet valve are clean. (The water-inlet valve is the device on the washing machine that the fill hoses are attached to.) If they're clean, you probably have a defective water-inlet valve. If so, you should completely replace the valve. There's no water at all If there's no water at all, make these checks: Is there water getting to the machine? Is the water-volume selector switch set properly and are the control panel buttons pressed in all the way?
Is there a faint buzzing or humming noise coming from the water-inlet valve? (The water-inlet valve is the device on the washing machine that the fill hoses are attached to.) If you can't hear anything, the water-inlet valve may not be getting any power. If you can hear some noise and there's water present, you may need to completely replace the water-inlet

Whirlpool top loader

You either have a defective pressure switch or water inlet valve. Start to fill the machine with warm water so that both solenoids on the water inlet valve (hot and cold) are activated. After about 30-60 seconds, push the timer knob in to stop water flow. If the water continues to flow, replace the water inlet valve. If this is the case, it may take a few times of starting and stopping water flow to allow solenoid to heat up and become symptomatic. If water flow stops abruptly each time knob is pushed in, you most likely have a defective pressure switch (water level switch).
