My TOSHIBA laptop won't turn on

I was turning on my TOSHIBA Tecra but it's not working. As I turn it on, the fan starts to spin really fast and the power LED starts to flashes 3 times, 2 yellow flashes and 1 green flash. It keeps on going like that forever.

I have tried:
- starts with the battery.
- starts without the battery but with connected power cable.

but it still won't work. please help me figure out what has happened to my laptop and how can i fix it, please! All of my works are in the laptop and i have no back up files!!

Thank you very much!

Flashing three times means something physically wrong with ur laptop. could be fault with ur power supply, Hard drive or ram.
- with the battery, plug in ur power supply and check if ur LED is glowing and the laptop is charging well.
if the problem persists,
- reset the RAM and the Hard drive, [ for this take out the ram and Hard drive and put them back again].
if still the problem persists, take it to repair. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- u dont have to worry bout the backup in ur laptop. a simple solution would be to get a 2.5 inch hard drive enclosure, install ur harddrive into that, connect it to a different computer and back it up!, but be sure what type of Harddrive u have , is it a IDE harddrive or a SATA harddrive.
cheers suraj

Toshiba Tecra A7 Won't Turn On

You may trying pulling the battery out while its unplugged. Another issue may be the socket where the AC adapter plugs into the laptop. Is it loose, broken prong inside the socket. It should have been able to power up at least for a brief moment just on the battery. Hope this helps ya.

I have a toshiba m3 laptop, it was going then it froze, so i turned it off, now it wont start up, ac power and the on LEDs light up, if i remove and replace the battery the battery light goes momentarily...

1. Take the battery out of the laptop & try to turn on the laptop using power adapter only. If the computer turns on, then the battery is defective & needs to be replaced.
2. Make sure the power adapter is not defective. Test the output voltage of the power adapter using a voltmeter. Compare the voltmeter reading to the nominal value written on the adapter or the laptop.
3. If you have another processor which is compatible with your laptop's model, try swapping processors & test to see if the laptop will work.
4. The motherboard could be defective & needs to be replaced

My toshiba tecra 8000 will not power on

What you need to do to test this is the following:

1 - Check if its the battery : Remove the battery, plug in the laptop and try to power on the machine, if it powers on then your battery is dead and the system board is fine

2 - With the batter in and the laptop plugged in you should get a charging LED light up somewhere on the laptop, if you do not then the board is most likley gone.

If removing the battery and plugging the laptop in still fails to start the board of spin the fans and you hear no beeps, then the board is gone.

Hope this helps
