Unable to load TalonSoft East or West front

Sorry friend but this game is not compatible with Vista and there aren't any patches. However you can try your luck here. Go thru the thread http://www.theblitz.org/downloads/patches.php#cs

Also i suggest you to run the game with the Xp Sp2 Compatability option turned on.

I got talonsoft eastfront II to run on my windows 7 laptop by using two pieces of software. First I use vmware player and created a virtual machine with a winxp install. Second, I ripped the original game CD using alcohol. This creates an image that preserves the special formatting that is necessary because of the SafeDisc copy protection that is used in this talonsoft game. I mount this image using alcohol since my laptop does not have an optical drive. The vmware player sees the mounted image as a normal cd drive with the original game cd in it. I can install and play eastfront II in the win xp virtual machine. I installed the 1.02 patch. No other special settings were necessary. All features appear to work with this setup. The videos play, the unit viewer works (win98 era help files with transparency do not work in win 7 normally), background music and sfx are streamed off the virtual cd
