Broken remote cant set to component

The remote is broken, and i cant set the channel to component to play a dvd

    same problem....cant manually set TV to component. No universal remotes will work. Is not in "menu" selection either.

On most TV's you can select the source or input by going into the menu on the tv. It is usually under set up although all tv's vary. I hope this assists you and thanks for using Fix Ya. If you need further assistance please let me know.

With the composite cable you so not need to retune a channel! You just need to select the correct AV channel from your remote......turn on the ps2 with a game playing and select AV on remote and keep pressing it till you get the Composite channel playing your ps2 game!

I cant get my did/vcr combo to play on my Emerson TV. I all color coded cables attached. Help!
Not enough information for a good reply. Are you sure your tv is set to the correct mode or channel for vcr? Make sure both devices are on, your dvd/vcr playing if you can, and see if the tv on channel 3, channel 4 or channel 91 show that dvd/tape. Otherwise, try checking your remote control, MENU button and look for device options, or INPUT options, on the main menu.

What channel or setting is used on the TV to play a DVD?
Hi, Channel 3 or 4 might work for older TVs. Most new HDTV's have a mode setting in the menu. (Video 1 or 2 or 3) or (Component 1 or 2). On your remote you may have DVD button. Try all these suggestions, 1 of these will work. You can play with the remote too. Good luck.

I played a dvd and now can't get the tv to come on. How do you switch between dvd and television? This is a Westinghouse DVD LCD combo television.
on the remote there are various button at the top to control the functions. these include tv dvd cable etc.
When the remote is set on tv all the functions on the tv work together with the functions of dvd such as play stop etc.all except power channel up channel down etc.
THE REMOTE MAY JUST BE SET TO DVD JUST PRESS TV AT THE TOP OF THE REMOTE OR YOU MAY NEED TO SET IT BACK AND THE PROBLEM IS FIXED!!! THE USER MANUAL SHOWS YOU HOW TO SET IT.

I have a rca dvd recorder+vcr combo drc8320n i want to set up watching/changing cabletv channels on the dvd remote. i have tried buying universal remotes cheap& expensive but they no longer work on my
With cable input connected to "RF in"on rear of unit make sure vidoe input is set to "Tuner". This will show up on the TV screen. Change channels numerically or using up/down arrow keys on DVR remote. Note there is a slight pause between changing channels.You probably will have to "autoscan" for channel setup/etc. If you say your TV set is old; it probabaly is equiped with coax
connection only/set TV channel to "3" or "4". when yot opt to play vcr/dvd it will override your
cable channel selected. Hope this helps!

I am hooking up a magnavox dp100mw8b dvd player and all I see is a blue screen. The player plays but I get no picture. Is there settings or programming that needs to occur with the remotes and the tv?
make sure the channel is on 3 also the remote should be on the same setting ie: hdmi,component,s-video av, etc

Dvd hookup
No need to play down...many guys are just as untechnical.

Players have three connections. Typically, your tv has similar inputs located on it and plug in goes color to color. Yellow is the video. Red is always the right speaker (on any system). White is the left channel. Insert a known good DVD and press play before you actually do the switchover so you can see it working in the next step. Now...set your TV to component input (it may be TV/Vid on your remote). Your TV manual should tell you how to do this. There may be more than one input...press that button again. It will come through.

If your tv doesn't have these connections, there are similar ones on your VCR...you can 'play through' by setting component input and then getting the VCR to send it on through on a TV channel. Start with the VCR tuning a channel and then switch over to component...Same deal...start the DVD first.

I think your mom changed the DVD output setting. Using the remote, go to the Setup Menu, then select DVD Setup. Scroll down to the Alt Video Out option. It will either be set to "Component", S-Video, or "Off". It needs to be set to the type output you are using to go from your Go Video deck to your TV. If you are using an S-Video cable, then set it to "S-Video", if using Component cables (Red, Blue, and Green cables), then set to "Component". Otherwise it should be set to "Off".
