Stuck VHS tape in Samsung TV/VCR Combo

=) Hellooo...

I put a VHS tape in the VCR part of my Samsung Combo, and whether using remote or tv counsel buttons ~ the play/FF/Rwd buttons don't work. The tape is stuck now, as eject doesn't do anything either.

As I'm not electronically gifted, and tv is mounted on a bracket ~ is there an easy way to remove the VHS tape?

(I just submitted this thru Premium plan, but expert page doesn't exist anymore) THANK YOU =) Marsha G.

Although I thought of turning the tv off, didn't think about unplugging it & that worked. THANKS AGAIN & many happy good deeds back to you!!!

I have an old emerson TV/VCR (Digital Tracking VHSHQ) The TV works fine, but when I put a tape in it is ejected and part of the tape stays inside, but can be pulled out.

Try a VHS Cleaning Tape Cassette. Follow it's instructions. If no better result it's not worth throwing away money on having repairs done but better put toward, if you can afford to, buying:
Option 1. A VHS/DVD player (combo as these are known) and plug that into the Emerson AV input.
Option Two: A VHS/DVD twin recorder combo deck - and plug that in.
Then start on copying any VHS tapes you cherish to DVD on this device.
Option Three: Forget the Emerson except for just using as a TV and buy a new TV with DVD player built in - the latest type of combo.
(I'm having to guess whether you've just used tapes to watch or record and watch)

Vcr cuts my tv off after i put the tape in

The VCR is not turning the TV power off. The tape is not playing. I'd guess maybe it needs a cleaning or a replacment.

I can play DVD's but not VHS tapes. I hav checked all connections and several tapes to no avail. Thank you ! Ol' Fred

Hey Ol' Fred...
One of my good friends is an ol Fred so I felt compelled to stop in and help!
I'm not sure of your setup, but if you've got a combo DVD/VHS unit, make sure that you have out puts to the TV for Both parts separately... You can designate by accessing the TV's onscreen menu and setting up a separate source for DVD and one for VHS. I've found on my projection TV that it's best to use the Coax cable connections for the VHS to TV.
Then once it's setup with separate hookups to the Tv, you should have audio and video for VHS...

Stuck tape in vhs/tv combo

Unplug the TVCR, take the cover off, find the motor (probably on the right side of the mechanism) and turn its shaft with your fingers until you have run the tape back out. Now plug it back in and try it again with a scarificial tape. If it continues to fail, replace all the rubber belts in the mechanism.
Hope ya fix it!
