My seat ibiza radio keeps turning itself on and running the battery down

The car hasn't been used for 6 week (due to a leg accident). In the meantime the radio keeps turning itself on, when locked and consequently running the battery down.

Simple solution for anyone! Had the same problem with radio turning itself on in my Seat Ibiza Stella 1.4 2000. Here's what you do..
. Remove front panel
. Disconnect tape player and open it
. Clean the mother board paths(bottom side) with some chemical liquid not to strong(i used sticker remover) from black dirt. You can scratch between paths with a needle for better effect.
. Put all back together
. Problem solved.
It was driving me mad but now it's working when I want it to :)

Help! Changed battery but still don't work for a long time

you probably have a short in the amplifier under the driver's seat. I had the same problem. Bought mine used, but the amp had water damage due to the vents for it on the left side of the driver's seat letting in water, probably snow or something that fell in there. Was $1200 to replace. Basically your car will be fine for a couple weeks, maybe a month then the battery will die.

Hello! The trouble code is telling us that the voltage to the Camshaft Positioning Sensor (CMP) is low...The connector that plugs into the sensor could be open, the sensor itself defective or low battery input to the sensor...See diagrams below as to sensor location...Lets eliminate...The wire colors in the CMP plug are...Pink...Black/White...And Light Blue/Black...If you connect a voltmeter to the Pink wire you must read 5 volts...Push a safety pin into the rear of the in-place connector into the Pink wire so it contacts the pin that the wire is crimped to...(+) probe of meter clipped to that pin and (-) probe to bare metal chassis ground...Key on...Meter set to read 5 volts...If 5 volts is present that eliminates a battery fault...Next push the safety pin into the Light Blue/Black wire...Turn on key...(+) probe to that pin...Should read about 2.4 volts...If you read nothing, or less than 1 volt the sensor is defective OR the connector pins to it are fouled...Pull plug and inspect both male/female pins for oil...corrosion...etc...Radio Shack sells a product called DeOxit...It's the best (no touch) spray contact cleaner...Send results...PS...Best meter to use is a digital one...$20...Guru...saailer

Radio does not work on my 2004 Crown Vic

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome. You need to check your radio fuse first. It may have blown. If it hasn't, you may need a radio code to unlock it, say if you have lost power to it due to a battery disconnection. If not, you need to check the wires in the back of the radio. They may be damaged or they might have just came loose.

That is a false statement

You can put an Ampere Meter on it, when it is running

You can look at the motor running with an Oscilloscope

You can check Fuel Pressure & Fuel Volume

Your problem has nothing to do with cranking
Cranking is the starter turning over the motor

You have a no start condition, due to lack of fuel pressure

Now you see why I never recommend a dealer
Why would a professional tell you that stuff?

You have a complete fuel pump circuit with other items
that can be checked

You could install a new pump & hope that is the problem,
but if it took 6 months to come back I doubt it
