CANT FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET THE AUX TURN ON SO I CAN PLAY MY IPOD THRU MY STEREO
SOURCE: aux for ipod
Make sure this is connected to an Aux Input and NOT an output. You did
not mention what manufacturer you have for a head unit, so I'll take a
guess.
Is is Pioneer? If so, with the radio off, you'll need to either hold
down the "source" button or the "func" button. Scroll to the "AUX 1"
or "AUX 2" function and then change it from "off" to "on". Then press
source and it should be active.
If it is another brand, you'll need to do a similar process of going
into the set-up menu and turn on the aux function. This should enable
the feature.
Other than that, the operation manual for your radio can be downloaded from the manufacturer's website.
Hope this was helpful.

solution to ipod problem some ipods do not work in directly with after market sterios some do now a good solution is to go to your local radio shack buy the rca jack one end proper male femal connectors on one end then head phone jack on the other this will play anything its just like the old days when you had to buy that clunky tape with head phone jack attachted it works all the time make sure ipod is powered so that it wont loose power while playing its kinda old school stuff but works since most ipod products dont work with aftermarket sterios

turn your head unit off, hold the function button and the functions menu to toggle the aux issue will pop up. its like an "off" function setting
SOURCE: I can't select aux when I plug my ipod into my Pioneer stereo.
I think this can be done with the stereo on but you have to hold down either the e button or 1 of the buttons on the right side of face(not audio)maybe and a menu will pop up and you should run into a screen that ask off on or off you will want it on and then you should be able to access ur ipod by pressing the source button.Hope this helps.

The correct iPod adapter for this is the CD-IB100ii, not the PAC piece you bought. With the correct adapter you will be able to charge your iPod, get text and control from the head unit, and of course audio playback through your system.
