Connect magnavox dvd to ge tv HELP!

GE tv model #27GT271 has only a coaxial connect port (old threaded kind). Magnavox dvd model DP100MW8B has no coaxial connect, only plug in component ports. DVD manual says dvd player must be hooked up to tv. Is there a way to make this work? If so, how? Thanks!!

We just "inherited the same TV (RCA ColorTrax Commercial Skip), and i am trying to connect my kids Wii to the TV, but I cannot figure out if/how to connect components to this TV. Is it possible?? If so, HOW?? Thanks.

    I have this problem also.
The RF module looks a lot like the digital converter box I put on my TV. My converter box has AV inputs and I was wondering if I could hook a DVD player to them and make it work. Amy ideas on this ?

There are a few options to connect an older t.v. with a DVD player.

  1. You can connect your new DVD player to a VCR....not recommended as quality loss will occur....use RCA plugs (Red/white/yellow) but it is easy...and many people have an extra one around
  2. plug one end of RCA cord into DVD player, other end to VCR (colour match red plug to red cord)
  3. then to connect VCR to TV...use the coax VIDEO OUT (on VCR) to the TV

  4. OR you can purchase an RF modulator like this at http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/stores/detail/-/electronics/B00009MDBN#moreAboutThisProduct
  5. this option has a greater cost...but the picture quality will not suffer....Note..you will not have Surround sound...but as it is an older tv. you were not used to that anyway..
Great way to keep an older working t.v. out of the landfill

hope this helps!

What you will need is an RF modulator. They are relatively inexpensive and can be found at local electronic stores. The following link will provide you with a background on the device and how it functions and connects.http://hometheater.about.com/cs/dvdlaserdisc/a/aadvdrfmoda.htm I hope this has been helpful and thank you for using Fix Ya. Why does neither the co-axial cable from my DVR Cable box nor the one from my TV fit into the coaxial plug on the Magnavox ZV427MG9 DVD Recorder/VCR Combo ?

Check the coaxial cable connector type. There are two kinds--one that look like the RCA connector that you can just push in.

The other kind has a nut that you have tighten over the coaxial cable connector on the DVD recorder.

Coaxial cord won't fit on VCR/DVD

Are you sure that the port that is unthreaded is actually coaxial. I've never seen an unthreaded coaxial port, just unthreaded push on connectors.

What color do you see on the center ring on the connection of the vcr?

Connect magnavox dvd to ge tv HELP!

You need to go get an RF modulator. They can be purchased at Radio Shack or a number of other electronic shoppes for a reasonable price.

The RF modulator connects to the coax cable connector and it has inputs for the RCA connectors.
