SOURCE: hot temperature

If you turn the unit around and look indise the back of it, there is a black knob that you turn to adjust the temperature. It is kind of hard to see unless you turn the machine full around.

My Bosch electric kettle is leaking and also stops working before reaching boiling point. What shld I do?

If your Bosch electric kettle is leaking and stopping before reaching boiling point, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:
  1. Check for Obvious Leaks: Examine the kettle for any visible cracks, holes, or signs of damage. Ensure that the water isn't leaking from the base or any seams. If you find any leaks, it's likely that the kettle needs to be replaced, as repairing leaks can be challenging and may compromise safety.
  2. Inspect the Power Base: Examine the power base of the kettle to ensure that there are no electrical issues. Make sure the power cord is securely connected and that there are no exposed wires.
  3. Check Water Level and Boil-Dry Protection: Ensure that you are filling the kettle with an appropriate amount of water. Some electric kettles have a minimum and maximum water level indicator. Additionally, many kettles are equipped with a boil-dry protection feature, which automatically turns off the kettle if it detects insufficient water. Make sure you are not accidentally triggering this safety feature.
  4. Descale the Kettle: Mineral deposits from hard water can build up inside the kettle and affect its performance. Descaling the kettle can help improve efficiency and prevent issues. You can use a mixture of equal parts water and white vinegar to descale the kettle. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for descaling.
  5. Contact Customer Support: If the issues persist, and your kettle is still under warranty, contact Bosch's customer support or the retailer where you purchased the kettle. They may provide guidance on troubleshooting or offer a replacement if the product is defective.
  6. Consider Professional Repair: If the kettle is no longer under warranty and you cannot resolve the issues yourself, you might consider taking it to a professional appliance repair service. They can assess the problem and determine if it's worth repairing.

Kettle has just suddenly tripped the electricity. Tried changing fuse and different plug socket but still tripped. O oh!

This is because there is a current leakage between the live and earth terminals of the kettle.
You see, if current leaks from live path to earth, you will get an electric shock when you touch the outer metal surface (because the metal part is earthed). To protect you, the trip switch will cut off the electricity supply.
You can try drying the kettle in hot sun. This is because the current leakage is most probably due to water leaking in to the circuitry.
You can try replacing the heating element, if it is available in the store. Otherwise do not use it. That's better for your safety.

Problems with Breville SK500XL Stainless Steel Cordless Electric Kettle

There's a thermal cutout that trips if the regular safety switch isn't enough. According to the manual, if the thermal cutout trips you have to send it back to Breville for servicing.

That may be what happened, if just letting it cool down and trying again didn't work.
