Printer software I need to re-install the software for my lexmark 1100 all in one printer

You likely mean LEXMARK. The printer will function without software other than what is in internal to it (firmware). If you want to print from your computer, you will need the print driver installed.

hhmmm...ok..well..here's a suggestion.
A. remove the old printer that you installed from printer menu, through control panel.
B. Get the driver again. Sometimes they get corrupted.
C. Install the driver again.. Unplug printer from computer and power it down.
D. Make sure that the driver installs cleanly.
E. Plug printer in again, no power.
F. Turn Power On. XP should 'see' the printer show up on the window. If this does NOT happen, then the cable is most likely no good.

Download the Lexmark drivers here.

Remove your printer from 'printers & faxes'.

Uninstall your printer software from 'add & remove' program.

Disconnect your printer from your computer.

Reboot your computer.

Install the printer software from your download.

Follow the on screen instructions, hook up your printer to your computer.

You need to install the driver software form disk before connecting the printer.

If you do not have the disk you must download the software from Internet, follow instructions below,

A web page will open, follow instructions, select model, select operative system etc., and click on download .
Chose to download the file in my documents when asked.
After downloading, findthe file, double click on the file , then if you get introubles, followthe instructions below to reset and reinstall drivers:

• Unplug printer USB.
• Go to control panel >> installed printers in Windows and remove (delete ) any installed printer from printer list.
• Download driver from website, or use the disk and run the install file.
  
• Follow driver installation wizard.
• Plug back printer when prompted from installation wizard.

Note:some printerdoes not work on Vista, if you do not find any driver download for Vistaon your model page, that means your model is not Vista compatible.

Yes, Tyrone, there is a way to download the installation files (or drivers). If you need the software to install your Lexmark printer then follow this link http://downloads.lexmark.com/perl/downloads/downloads.cgi

When you get to the downloads page, select your printer model in the drop down menu. Select your operating system on the following page. The next page that you come to will have a list of drivers. Look here to find the appropriate drivers then click Download. After you download these files, you can run them directly from your computer to install the printer.

It's also a good idea to copy or write the files to a CD. This way, you will have them if you need them in the future.

The lexmark site has the drivers! I had the same problem, just go to their support page, and download the drivers/software.

am having problems installing or downloading the software for this printer. do not have a cd-rom for it HELP!
