Engin light stays on in my toyota corolla

The engin light in my toyota corolla 2001 keeps coming on. we have taken it to the dealer and they have changed the sensor once and the light came back after a week. was returned to the dealer again twice since that and they say they can't find anything wrong with it. Can you please tell me what is the problem?

Could you please advise what sensor was replaced, and, did the dealer re-scan the vehicle? If so, did the dealer provide you with a "code", as to why the light was on?

Thanks you for allowing mew to assist with your situation.

Before I can help you, I need more infomation from you...

What sensor was changed recently? And, after you took the vehicle back, did they advise you of what the DTC "code(s)" were, the reason for the 2nd light? The CkEng light comes on for a variety of reasons, we need to get some good data for a proper solution. Thanks.

The car has been back to the dealer 4 times for the same problem. First time they claimed that they replaced malfunction tank by-pass vsv and codes mentioned are P0440, P0441 and P0446 that were malfunction. the second time they connected the car to their computer and re-scan the vehicle and told us that everything is working fine and the engine light is off, but after one day the light came back and the car went back to the dealer for the third time and now they claim that the problem is from charcoal canister and has to be changed. also after the second visit as soon as i got in my car i could small gas and it hasn't gone away and the dealer says they did nothing wrong and all the problem is from the canister. we really don't know if we can trust what they say.

My toyota corolla nze 2002 has a rattling sound in the gear box

SInce any noise from within the engine/gear box cannot be taken lightly, it is important that you will need a good look from a service shop. If you have been carrying out the scheduled service in accordance with Toyota timings, there will not be an issue. You could check out if the noise is external, otherwise get you car to the authorised Toyota centre for an estimate. This will be better than trying out/ stipping and then waiting for spares. I hope my advise is helpful. good day

You have to use a scanner and pull the code out that is causing the check engine light to come on. whatever code/codes you find are probably related to vsc light.

Running light go out but parking lights remain on in 2001 corolla

My '00 Subaru has a separate switch on the steering column for the parking lights, I never use it, but the lights will stay on with the key off. Look for a separate switch. If you find one ask the dealer for your $ back

2001 toyota corolla check engine light is on. Code reads P420 low threshold. Changed front and rear Oxygen sensors reset the light and drove the car 50 miles and the light came back on. the car will not...

Mass Air Flow sensor! Just remove your air filter cover. Go to Auto Zone and purchase some solvent. Spray past the air filter and it should correct the problem. If not, replace the Mass air-flow sensor. This is commonly mistaken for an oxygen sensor. Mine did this and I followed these steps and it fixed the light. BTW, the light stayed on for 5 years before I fixed it. Never hurt anything. It's normally something to do with emissions. Dummy lights. :)
