Question about Lexmark Interact S605 All-in-One Color Inkjet Wireless Printer

1 Answer

My Lexmark s605's print queue won't clear, and so the printer has stopped working altogether

Hi there, I have a Lexmark all-in-one S600 series printer which has done really well for me so far. unfortunately recently it has completely stopped working. After selecting to delete a document in the print queue manager (which constantly says 'deleting' now, no matter if I restart the computer etc) it will not print any new jobs, although they show up on the queue. I have tried restarting both machines, re-prioritising the queue list, printing directly from the printer with a memory stick, resetting the network settings for the printer and am now at a loss! Please help, I'm a university student and my printer is vital for my work. Many thanks!

Please follow the steps below to clear the print queue and restart the print spooler of your computer.

1. Browse to Start -> Run... and type in NET STOP SPOOLER (this will stop the print spooler service)

2. Browse to your windows\system32\spool\PRINTERS\ folder. You should see files there ending in .SPL and .SHD created around the time you tried to print - delete these files.

3. Browse to Start -> Run... and type in NET START SPOOLER (this will restart the print spooler service)

Try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.

Printer won't print. I went to printer and it says there are 9 items to br pringted in queue but they won't print Printer says it is ready

Good Day Nanawhit!

That happens all the times when first print job encounter a problem and stops printing and it was followed by series of print jobs. Some reasons for stop printing could be a printer out of paper and printer not set as default printer.

The best way to fix it is to cancel all pending jobs. When print jobs window is cleared off pending print jobs, restart your PC and your printer. Then go to your printer and make sure it is the default printer.

After that try printing a test page. Once a test page is successful, you can now print as many as you want.

Printer stopped printing says not responding

Just go to printer icon on tray after print attempt, and clear print queue, it may be confused with unsent jobs. Clearing this should help. Try turning it off and unpugging it, then replugging and on again to reset itself. Failing this, try a compete unistall and reinstall. Cheers lilacgerry
