Downloading pictures to my computer

I have lost my instruction manual and I am having trouble downloading pictures to my computer

  • Anonymous Dec 31, 2008

I lost my instruction manual and can't figure out how to download pictures to my computer. I have a Fuji Finepix Z20. Thanks!

Well my problem is more severe. I have plugged the USB cable into one of the USB ports. When I turn the camera on I select PC. What happens next is very disturbing. I get a loop of my system rebooting over and over again. To make this stop I disconnect the cable from the camera and restart the computer. I get a message indicating a USB induced crash occurred.

Yes, I have installed the driver for my camera on to my computer. And have followed the directions given above. What in the world is going on? HELP!

I don't use software or anything like that. Here is what I do:
1- Plug camera into USB cord (with it being plugged into your computer)
2- Turn on your camera, a blue screen will appear with options, select "PC"
3- Open your "My Computer" folder, you should now see a new drive, I have 2 hard drives so my camera is usually under "H://"
4- Select your picture(s) and drag and drop them into a folder or wherever it is you wish to store your pics. It will not remove them from your camera or memory card, it will simply copy them.
5- Power off your camera and remove the USB cord.

Simple as that! :) Again, that is just how I do it! I use Ulead PhotoImpact to edit my pics and such. Hope that helps!

DO YOU HAVE A SOLOUTION FOR DOWNLOADING PICTURES WHEN WE HAVE LOST THE DISK FOR THE COMPUTER

If you connect the cable from the camera to the computer, the computer will treat it like it is another disk drive. Open Windows Explorer and look for an extra drive. It might even give your camera name. If all else fails, find the company you need the disk from on their web site. They usually have a support section that allows you to download manuals and software for your camera. Good luck!

Can't download pictures

You need to have the pictures you want in a folder. Open this folder, go to the start menu, choose my computer. In My Computer select the G Drive and drag and drop from your other open folder to the G Drive.

Lost my usb cable

I don't know in which country you live (this is helpful to know!), but in most stores offering cameras and many offering electronic items, you should be able to procure a kit of adaptors that will include a cable to use with them.
In the US at least, Wal-Mart, Best buy, Circuit City and Radio Shack are likely sources.
Elsewhere (?) you are on your own.

Downloading a movie from my Ixus 500

Refer to the attached pictures for instructions on viewign the movide. In order to download the movie to the camera, you need to connect the camera to the computer using a USB connector. If you have already set the computer for downloading pictures, then it is just like copying pictures from the camera to the computer. Only the movie will have a .mpg extension. If you need more help let me know. I have a soft copy of the instruction manual that I can email to you.
