HP 3380 Laserjet All in one - paper wrinkling when printing left side

Hi - I have a 3380 All in One - the paper is wrinkling on the left side every time I print/copy. I noticed a ticking kind of noise starting a few days ago, before the wrinkling started. I opened the back and there are little pieces of silver/gold paper rolling up on the opposite side from wrinkling. I changed out toner - did not make a difference Any suggestions?

I am having the identical problem with the paper wrinkling on the left side every time I print/copy. I
noticed a ticking kind of noise starting a few days ago, before the
wrinkling started. I opened the back and there are little pieces of
silver/gold paper rolling up on the opposite side from wrinkling. I also tried changing the toner and it hasn't helped. Is it something I can readily fix and/or will it be expensive to repair.

HP LaserJet P3005 printer prints wrinkled paper

2 reasons:
1. Was there a paper jam prior to this problem? It could be that the paper was pulled out and a small bit of it is stuck on the pins that guide the paper from the heat roller. If no torn jammed paper prior to this issue, then check out 2.

2. the heater/roller is damaged and needs to be replaced. I would suggest you take it to your nearest HP dealer to properly diagnose this for you. This would save you unnecessary cost in trying to pull it apart and causing more damage to it.

Good Luck,

The paper wrinkles up while going through

This is possibly down to the upper fuser roller wearing and catching the paper when it goes through the fuser. The upper roller surface breaks up and splits

Paper jams and wrinkles every time

If you slide open the area in the back of the printer where you remove the paper jam, you can see two plastic tabs (one on the left and one on the right). They should both be free for the paper to pass. Look around to see if there's any other obstruction.

See if the paper will print without the wrinkle with the back piece open. If it does, there's an obstruction in the paper path such as a paper clip or money. Has happened.

If there is no wrinkle coming from the back when it's open, there there problem is the paper moving through that last piece. Look for an obstruction (First Paragraph of this).

HP Laserjet 3380

If it is from the adf which is on the top then there is a small piece of paper stuck in the back. open the lid and you will find a plastic holder in the back. This helps the paper turn through the adf. Usally the paper is in there or this is out of positions which will cause this.
